@Billsy111 The Wellington tight forwards are what could at best be described as "average" so we should be able to have the upper hand there and our loose trio is rather good so clearly up front we should have them up front overall then. Our locks also don't often lose our throws but having said that there have worringly been a few losses on our own throws that we did not get when Ash Dixon was tossing the ball in. It was noticeable last week that we tried about four new variations of lineout drives which we have hardly seen before so that should keep the visitors guessing.
On the other hand some of our defence in the backs out wide has not what it should be and they will have needed to have done plenty of work on that during the week.
All going well it will be a hard old fashioned forward battle where there will only be one winner and after that we might be lucky enough to see Messrs McClutchie and Toala cut loose during the second half.
It is a real shame we won't get to see Alex Fidow. I had heard whispers amongst a few contacts I have at NPC in the past that there were a few times when accidental knock ons were conceded just to get the chance to engage Wellington in a scrum. We will miss out on that tomorrow.
Finally if all else fails they are bound to sub J Garden-Bachop on at some stage...............................

@mikey07 itβs quite ironic that we have both the shortest and tallest lock in NZ lining up together.

The curtain raiser is:
Hurricanes Heartland Under 20 v Chiefs Heartland U20s
Kick-off 4.50pm at McLean Park
I couldn't find the Chiefs Heartland U20 line-up, but the squad is here:

Kick-off 4.50pm at McLean ParkYou would expect the Hurricanes to win this game with a larger player pool from 5 PUs to choose from. The Chiefs are only TV and KC. BTW, Oli Mathis (Y12 Hamilton BHS co-captain) is in the Chiefs squad.

For those coming up from points south for the game it is a normal HB day today with not a cloud in the sky and probably likely to remain that way until mid afternoon. Currently sitting on 20 degrees according to the thermometer in the sun on the back porch but probably around the 16 degree mark in the shade. Game time will see the temperature hover around the 10 degree area but with the easterly expected there will be a wind chill to it so dress as if it will be about the five degrees mark.
A slight northerly breeze is wafting through at the moment but that will more than likely turn toward the east later on as it does a lot here in Napier City.
Not sure of the expected crowd size but if you haven't got tickets yet factor in about a ten minute queue time to get yours at the Park and about the same or more to get past the security checks to get into the ground. In other words don't front up at 7.00pm and expect to see the kick off live!
If you are near Latham Street the ticket boxes will be open earlier of course so think seriously about buying yours then. Tickets are also available online, try either of these

https://bit.ly/3AlZxR9WellingtonParking is not too bad in the streets around the park. You will find one somewhere but be prepared for a 15 to 20 minute walk if you leave it real late. The ground in the surrounding area is completely flat so it should not be too much of a physical exercise!

Here is one person with his foot definitely in one camp! Not sure what is happening with my guys jerseys but they do not appear to have the HBRFU emblem on them.

Even though he has an annoying face, Sapsford is quite a useful player at NPC. Did I read he has signed for an Aussie Super team?

Pretty enjoyable game so far. No love lost between the two Canes provinces.
All to play for in the second half.
