QF - North Harbour v Auckland

Auckland still has not played well in a single game this NPC. Somehow we are in the semis
Hopefully some of the injured backs and Choat return
Patrick and Akira were strong. Peita must start

Your forwards are beasts.
But backline not doing RTS any favours. He looked lost.

@KiwiMurph Got through a lot of work after long layoff.

Ridiculous that he is not starting. Ditch the aussie work experience student.

Ekuasi is better too
So frustrating

We probably were the better team overall, but Harbour certainly weren't helped by Li and Gatland going off.

I thought Auckland missed and fell off way too many tackles.

Gibson in particular struggled. Choat is a far better player now

So did I hear correctly that Auckland play the winner of the Wellington v Hawkes Bay QF tomorrow?

That’s not what Sky Sport had on their screens last week.

Was it Jack McTavish commentating tonight? So much better than the usual idiots. Just enthusiastic for the game, accurate calls, no agenda.

@ACT-Crusader Yes we did, especially in the first half, but we controlled the game in fairness apart from a 10 minute spell at the end of the first half.
Our set piece proved to be vital in the end and we did finish stronger as the game went on.I do feel that Taefu's missed penalty in the 2nd half was a bit of a turning point. 18-6 with Harbour having all the momentum would have been hard to come back from for Auckland imo, but instead, Auckland seemed to get a bit of confidence after that miss.

Like him too Tim.
Anyway game was messy as, but Auckland showed having a bit more depth would do the job, and forwards usually win games. -

@African-Monkey And Stevenson going for the lineout instead of kicking a penalty right in front.
Auckland definitely benefitted from the Williams lottery in the last 10 mins. Dalzell comically dived straight off his feet right in front of Williams at a defensive ruck, and he ignored it.

The game changer was Bryn Gatland getting injured and not being able to play the 2nd half.
Aoake's stupidity had a huge impact on the QF, but he only copped a yellow for what could have been a red.
@Stargazer It looked like a cross between an old league trick and a way too slow effort to get under the ball.
