@ACT-Crusader and so many times we will find a way to fuck up that sort of play. Wright doesn't pass, or passes too early/late, being the first two options I can think of.

With Frost, Valetini, Tupou, Holloway and Skelton the Wallabies pack has plenty of size and with Laurie Fisher putting together a good maul defence it puts the Wallabies right in the contest.

That try concede on halftime is a coach killer.

Back to this - here is a potential Wallabies team with another year of pro footy under its belt:

      1 Bell
      2 Porecki
      3 Alaalatoa (c)
      4 Frost
      5 Philip
      6 Holloway
      7 Hooper
      8 Valetini
      9 White
      10 Cooper
      11 Koroibete
      12 Kerevi
      13 Ikitau
      14 Kellaway
15 Campbell (yes I think he's good enough)

      16 Fainga'a / Lonergan / Pollard
      17 Slipper / Sio
      18 Tupou
      19 Skelton / Neville
      20 Samu
      21 Gordon / McDermott
      22 Lolesio / Donaldson / Edmed
      23 Nawaqanitawase / Hodge / a host of others

So we're mostly there in terms of forming up a squad IMHO. And playing at potential could be a very good side, with a few of those disciplinary edges sanded off.

So much for an Aussie team ferners think NZ should thrash every time. But for a couple of bits of poor execution from Jock Campbell they could have beaten France. That last ruck cleanout was abysmal and gifted it to Danty.
Just shows how close the top teams are these days.
Penaud is a classy runner but should have been cleaned up before that try.

@KiwiMurph still think they are dark horse at next years 2023 RWC , if they can get their best 23 assembled they will be a threat
Samu Kerevi and Marika Koroibete back in starting XV makes them an even more dangerous beast

Yep very dangerous if they can put their best team (or close to it) on the park.

@NTA id like to see BPA brought back into the team. His performances in his last year were far better than Faingaa and Porecki.

I'm not sure Fainga'a deserves his spot based on his throwing and discipline - those fucking stupid cannonball tackles! Laurie Fisher was on twitter after one blatant example saying it wasn't illegal the one time he got away with it, then the next game was horribly silent when he got penalised.

Hopefully someone like Pollard gets more time in Super Rugby and can take the bench spot.

I always thought BPA was good but needed to work on his fitness. Not sure his discipline was anything special either, but maybe playing for the Reds colours my judgement on that 😉

Thinking on Pollard further: the best thing Australian rugby could do is move him up the Hume Highway to the Tahs and let him run off the bench there. The Brumbies have Lonergan as well so they're well served for rakes.

that French try right on halftime, the French guy at the ruck shoulda bee done for going over and sealing it off.

A few blunders cost the Wallabies dearly (Foley's pass to nobody for the French first try, Valetini's left foot kick, Hodge's misfiring kick off to name a few, plus the missed tackles on Penaud). But I reckon they will be a force next for the RWC if they can have Beale, Kerevi, Koroibete, Alaalatoa, Sio, Philipp, Rodda, Bell and Leota who were not there today.

                              Cooper especially.

You should upgrade your telly mate. I did a few years back, and now my set has this wicked function called "mute". Apparently I can even activate it with the remote, but I haven't figured that part out yet.

That was a very exciting game with both teams looking like they could win it. Feel a bit for the Wobblies, how many games versus France have been decided by the tightest of margins recently?

@Tordah a lot gets made of Dave Rennie's overall record but his Wallabies side have lost 5 games by 2 points or less.

They've also had to play us like 9 times.

I think they are a bit better than their record suggests.

                                        @voodoo smart arse 🤣

I like having the crowd noise. That was a red button option on foxtel years ago.

You should have recorded the fake fan noise that they used during lockdown to play while watching matches. No need to have it synched to whats happening on the field as the broadcasters certainly didn't bother about it.

@Tordah a lot gets made of Dave Rennie's overall record but his Wallabies side have lost 5 games by 2 points or less.

They've also had to play us like 9 times.

I think they are a bit better than their record suggests.

To lose by 5 games by 2 points or less is bad luck or maybe shows an inability to close a game out?
                                          Either view possible I guess.
But 1 point victory over Scotland?
