Alright you horrible cnts - I’m back, and I’ve signed up for another round of this torture.

Port Mac again, 12 weeks to get into shape - and I’m coming off a low base.

On the positive side, I guess I know what the day holds.

On the negative, I won’t have that innate need to finish, since I’ve done one of these before…

It’s going to be an effort to train for this - I started a new job in October, and it’s bloody busy with a fair amount of travel. I’m hoping that with a disciplined diet (😂), and some muscle memory, I can get through this.

    Wish me luck fellas!

You’ll no doubt train smarter this time, remembering all those little mistakes you made first time around both with training and the race. That previous experience will be invaluable. Good luck!

Take me three months to build up to a low base.

              Day 1 Update

Stuck at work late. Did not exercise.

              Off to a good start!

Week 1 down. Not spectacular, but I'm underway!

                • Tuesday CBD run at lunch - 6kms @ 4:50/km
                • Thursday run club intervals - 8 x 3mins, 1 min rest, total 5.5km @ 4:21/km
                • Sat back on the trainer - fuck me I did not miss that thing - 52min doing some cunty workout thing, was rooted
                • Sunday - 10km cruise at 5:19/km

Have decided that I'll largely ignore swimming as I'm a lost cause. Training is going to be all about the bike, and to a lesser extent the running.

                Oh, and the diet...

Well, it's not been a great week.

I have a training plan that involves the bare minimum to get to the start line - c. 12hrs per week.

This week I managed about 3.5 hours. If I wanted to be generous and count the trainer as 2x being on the road (which I think is fair), we get to about 5 hours.

                      In short, I'm fcked

                      • Monday - 30mins on the trainer
                      • Thursday - run club intervals, 12 x 75s @ 3:49/km pace
                      • Saturday - brick: 50 mins trainer into 4km run at 4:34/km
                      • Sunday - 40mins on the trainer

                      10 weeks to go
