And what eventuated was actually a tackle with three Chiefs players immediately pinning him in. You have to be blind not to see that.

A penalty is already a loss of possession and massive loss of territory. Punishing teams more for minor infractions does not seem logical.
I think a yellow card should be about punishing teams more for cynical and dangerous play and act as a deterrent for those behaviours. I don't see how the yellow cards in today's game do that.

That's a different question. I'm not seeing i agree with the way cards are used, only that is consistent with how is been used for years
