@Chris-B the backline we finished with

Heinz, Richie, Macca, Goodhue, Ennor, McLeod, Havili

Far more direct and played really well I thought.

I wouldn't mind if they played the core of that backline next week - with hopefully Big Leicester and Will Jordan on the wings.

Probably Will will start from the bench - assuming he plays.

Maybe off the bench or slot him into the wing spot is most likely.
He is good to go this week just depends how they use him, or they hold him back for the next game easier for him to ease back in.

@Chris I'm expecting the Chiefs-Crusaders game to be pretty intense and physical.

I'm a bit concerned about who we might break on either side - that we might regret later in the year.

Hope you blokes don't get to bring your own ref like in this match.

      • TBF, I'm only really referring to that clusterfuck after Drummond was tackled.

How good was Moananu?? Asking as I have not seen anything of this fella, worth a start perhaps?

Might be time for Noah Hotham to supplant one of those average Saders halfbacks.

Foster would have done it at the start of the season.

Better intensity in the second half and our subs have made a real impact.

McLeod is a really good player. Smart and runs with a bit sting.

Same as always - not his main attribute. But noticeable how much sharper his ( and McCleods) passing and running lines were from others, maybe against a tiring defence as well. Crusaders were terrible for 60 mins. So many mistakes, it was like watching the Blues.

Such a good rugby brain. Such a shame though about all those leg injuries.

It occurred to me overnight, you probably couldn't find a player more similar to Connie than this season's McLeod.

He has been through the academy system at Counties. Made the step up from club footy to Counties last year. He played 8 games off the bench last year, scoring 3 tries similar to the one he scored. With the Crusaders call up it will be his first year being fully professional.

Bench firepower unashamedly won that for the Saders. Some really good cameos and deft touches from the likes of Moananu, McLeod and Goodhue. And the subbing of Drummond who was a real handbrake.

@Crazy-Horse probably not something you'd want to say out loud mate, it's a sensitive world we live in.

Brewis was also very good when he came in, while Moody was pretty anonymous. The latter scrummed well though.

@mikedogz I chuckled when I saw him running. Such a low centre of gravity aye.
Bench firepower unashamedly won that for the Saders. Some really good cameos and nice touches from the likes of Moananu, McLeod and Goodhue. And the subbing of Drummond who was a real handbrake.
