The Magpies were asking Briant exactly that on the goal line while the TMO was reviewing the try.

Bloody good performance from the lads to fight back into that with all those injuries

Phew. Another one-point win. With a bonus point. Briant nearly stole that one from us.

That was awful rugby by the Magpies in the second half, if we had lost we would have to taken our fair share of the blame along with Briant's interesting calls.

My problem with Grigg is that he's really good at running straight over the advantage line, but, that's hinders the play of the Magpies. It's not like he can't pass, he did one good one in that match, but every time the ball gets to him he just tucks and drives forward like a pocket rocket.

@Nepia Grigg also knocks the ball on quite often when he runs into contact.

@Steven-Harris Yeah, I'm happy enough with getting 3 wins from stormweek, no matter how close those wins were. Want to see improvment from now on though! These close games are bad for my health.

The reserve hooker never came on. Glad they didn't take the risk, although Thompson gave away a few penalties the coaches won't be happy with.

Good day for the Bay teams by the way. The Magpies and Tui both getting the bonus point win, and the Tui securing a spot in the Premiership semi-finals, a year after promotion from the Championship!

Magpies player of the day went to Devan Flanders.

Magpies currently three props down - Farrell (ribs - 3 weeks), Salmon (HIA) and Hintz (HIA).

I'd be keen to see Finn Hurley get a run in the sevens programme after the NPC. He is absolutely electric when he's on. Just needs to think about how to offset his size issues.
