It definitely was Sumo commentating - and he is awesome.

My favourite quote from the match was when there was some f bombs caught on the tv microphones and Sumo states "someone was trying to pronounce Whangarei in the middle of that ruck but it came out wrong"

You're in danger of Sumo coming on and bitching about you Wreck!

I've gotten used to him since those heady days, as he actually toned down the attempts at comedy and became a good play by play caller. Although his contemporaries are Nisbett "all brown people look the same" and TJ "I heart Crusaders for 80 minutes (even when they aren't playing" so the bar is extremely low.

When watching the feed from Sky Sports in the UK, everytime a "fuck" gets picked up on the ref's mike, the presenter in England has to come on air and say "I apologise for any bad language heard, it is from the players on the ref's microphone" or something similar

The fact that in this day and age, with a physical contest being broadcast, that Sky have to (I assume they get complaints or there's some ridiculous leglislation) intervene to point out the patently obvious is mind boggling to me.

Are there really people taking offense at this? I guess there are :idiot2:

I am certain there are plenty of people sitting there with pen and paper waiting to take offence on behalf of lots of people over anything really.
