Only one outcome from the Strange brainfart.
Two things stand out from this match which seem to highlight the problems the team is having. When Strange didn't catch a high pass in midfield, he threw his hands in the air in frustration, and started walking with his hands on his hips. WTF? This isn't club rugby. Where is the attitude?
Second, Crusaders scrum on top going towards the Brumbies tryline and they release the ball. WTF? There is a serious lack of decision-making in this team.

@Bones I thought it was a penalty try, Strange denied the Brumbies chaser a chance to get there by doing something completely illegal. A dumb play.

Could be wrong, but isn't foul play in the in-goal area immediately just a penalty try?

Foul play to stop a try, regardless of whether a try would have been scored, is surely exactly what the first part of the sentence is, which by any measure should be a penalty try?

@nzzp He had to release or reach out.

Why does he have to release when he was never held

But he never got back to his feet. He was OK to stand up, but not propel himself forward on the ground.

Just been leaked to me that Quinten Strange has been approached by the One New Zealand Warriors to swap codes effective immediately.

Unless the law has changed. Was always preventing a "probable" try.

                  https://www.world.rugby//the-game/laws/search?term=penalty+try

Penalty try: Awarded when, in the opinion of the referee, a try probably would have been scored (or scored in a more advantageous position) if not for an act of foul play by an opponent

He's a grade A knob jockey on the field, bit harsh to judge the rest of the team by him.

Am not judging his character, just his ability.

An adequate Super squaddie. Not a starter. An example.of player getting higher mention due to being in a successful team.

He has been mentioned in several AB squads by the press, they are high on Old Crusader Spice.

@Bones Well he should have removed all doubt by not punching the ball dead, and if he does it with the Brumbies player that close to the ball which he did, he left the refs with no choice. It was a complete brain explosion.

I do agree with this. It was stupid to put yourself in that position.

All he really needed to do was get his hand to it first and try to catch it. If he's trying to catch it and it goes dead then no big deal, it's a line drop out.
