14-14 at HT. Waikato have left a couple of tries out there but will be playing with the strong wind in the 2nd half. Just need to be more patient on attack.

Waikato took more of their chances in the 2nd half. Cruden still class, Leuila instant impact off the bench and big games from Tupaea and Cook-Savage.

    38-14

The Chiefs will need a No 7 to back up Jacobson next year but they're going to have ample cover at 6 and 8...

Jahrome Brown, but nothing official yet. Clearly, Boshier isn't a 7.

@Bovidae Ah yes forget he was shifting over from the Brumbies.

I'd say the only question throughout the whole squad is really at hooker (though there's only one spare spot in the main squad). There's plenty of other options (either current Chiefs or playing well within the region in NPC) for every other position.

Tane Kolose seems an obvious pick. But Moananu or Sanerivi would be OK.
Really impressed by Xavier Roe kicking game again today. He Cruden and Leuila are great game controllers.

I do wonder whether Cruden wants to play Super next year. Would be a great option for the Highlanders, Crusaders or Hurricanes. Would be happy with him at the Chiefs but no point with McKenzie, Jacomb and Trask (though who knows if Trask will be fit or not).

Michael Manson can run ! He could be an useful addition to the Landers squad.

This is the first time I saw his speed up close. There are a few other familiar names in the NZ Barbarians Schools team. Manson was then brought into the NZ Schools team to play Aust Schools a few days later.
