    @mariner4life maybe something like winning side get 6 points each to award, losers get 4 each.

    no Dan it does not. Under this system a player who is the best of a dogshit side that gets humped every single game of the season has a better chance of being "player of the year" than a guy in a team that wins every single game. that makes no sense.

    The AFL coaches vote on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis but for the whole game. SO yeah, you want to reward Ethan bussing around and getting in teh way a bit? Give him two points. Giving him the same as one of the clear standouts, and more than the actual best loosie on the park is, quite frankly, communism.

    Beyond that, you get rewarded for being the one good player in your team. So, a player like Sotutu last year probably has no chance as there were others doing great around him. They'll split the points.

    I would be betting on A. Savea. In fact, fuck it. I will bet on him, opening the TAB right now.

    Player everyone wants to blow? check.
    Shit team? check.

    Super rugby player of the year locked in.

    The 12 players leading Super Rugby Pacific Player of the Year voting

    We are just two rounds into the new Super Rugby Pacific season but there have been plenty of stand-out performers across the competition.

    @Bones

    I'll be very happy to be proven wrong, but we are in week two and Ardie is tied for first place....

    @Bones

    Best team in the competition thus far does not have anyone in the leading (or second group).

    Personally, I'd prefer an MVP vote similar to the NBA etc (but we know who the voters are).

    Jim and Finn are both there.

    Ha ha, well played.
    Jim would probably be my pick for MVP thus far, tbh.

    Who was the final Chiefs captain in this game?

    To answer my own question, it was ALB.

    There will be yet another captain named today for the Brumbies game - Vaa'i.
