Thought the turnaround was the Chiefs swapping nines. Seemed very blinkered tactically and high risk in wrong part of field until into second half. When Jacomb and Roe came on we kicked far better and hit runners with better variety.
The whole bench had great impact for Chiefs thankfully. But really impressed by Dyer and Norris before that.
Canham looks like some player, and Tate, Wilson and McReight are all top notch.
The defence was pretty amazing all game from both teams too.

Aussies have 5 or 6 very good loosies running around this season. Bodes well for a competitive Lions series.

If Berry was there then I don’t mind that they didn’t go to the replay. The less replays the better in my view.

Both teams playing some high risk stuff in these conditions and given the Reds propensity to go for tries only, I think the score is a fair reflection of the game.

Not sure that was a clear grounding tbf

They ended up checking the grounding, downward pressure in the try area was good enough for me.

I know it was wet and I know they got the win to top the table, but I wasn't overly impressed by the Chiefs. Lots of mistakes and not wise adaptation to the conditions. Some awful body positions too.

Ah Kuoi had a very good game. He is a bit lightweight for the upper level but could be a handy 6 which he used to be a few years ago. His problem is that the Chiefs are stacked with good loose forwards at the moment.
I see that nobody talks about Gideon Wrampling. He hasn't many minutes under his belt but he has impressed in each of his cameos. He looks better than Tupaea who is very average now after a great start.

                    A couple of late comments.

The rain was much worse than it looked on TV so I wasn't surprised at the handling errors, particularly from high kicks. Despite the early try, the Chiefs took a while to get into the game. That's often the case with teams coming back from a bye. Territory was more important than possession, and the Chiefs seemed to spend more time in their own half, or between the 22s, until the last 15 mins. I thought that Berry was OK apart from a bullshit scrum penalty against Dyer (no replay of that) and letting McDermott milk a ruck penalty. Usually he is the best at ignoring halfbacks trying to con the ref. Based on the comms I was listening to, someone might want to check if Mabey was wearing a Red jersey as the majority of the penalties against the Chiefs came from him, even when play was on the opposite side of the field.

Again, the subs made a difference. MSR was so ineffective. He adds very little apart from the lineout. The impact of Finau and Vaa'i was huge. Jacobson would have been my MOTM. As mentioned Wrampling had a great cameo. I wouldn't mind seeing him replace Rona for the Waratahs game.

Taukei'aho was huge too. Pin point throws at the lineout and systematically winning the collisions.

Team stats look pretty similar. Both teams got quick ball but the Chiefs had the advantage there
