Tough luck canes. Tough way to end the season after having a tough start and working your way right back into it and hitting some form.

Feel like the loss of Aumua was just too much to overcome, especially with how the Brumbies forwards fronted up. Needed him there.

The makings of a very strong team and wouldn’t be surprised if they are up at the top end of the competition standings next season.

If I was making an argument for Kirifi in the ABs it would be as a specialist bench loosie to attack the breakdown.

Agreed. Do you think that Super Rugby jacklers would be able to be effective enough over the ball at test level? Would be very interesting to see, and worth trying.

Same goes for Wallabies by the way. That Luke Reimer is a real asset who should be used for them.

Reckon their could be real value there and could be an option if you ran a 6-2 bench

I don't think the AB coaches have the balls to do something like that though

Given Ardie, Lakai and Jacobson (and the mythical not-injured EB) can play at 7 and shift out, that's not a terrible idea on the face of it.

Biggest disappointment was not to see 3 full stadiums over the weekend still plenty of work for organisers to be done in that space

Well not much you can do when 2 of the 3 are the worst stadiums in the comp playing night winter games

Thankfully one of them is getting replaced

All 3 are probably the bottom 3 stadiums in the competition

WTF, the Tron is one of the best grounds for watching rugby in.

Judging by the progress of Te Kaha in Christchurch, next year the worst stadium without competition will be Canberra's. It's so bad I suggest the team is kicked out of the competition until they build a decent one in Civic.

We simply turn to paper Tigers every time we play in Canberra for a finals game bar 2016.

              Another year, another dollar.

Not good enough on the big occasion in Canberra again. Cameron was dreadful.

Time for a coaching clear out. Laidlaw must go.

Looks like a fairly settled roster for 2026, are there likely to be any major new signings? Hurricanes are always a title contender, they do need to start the season a lot better in future, that is where they are losing out.

Canes outmuscled up front and battered out of the season. Didn't see that happening because I thought the pack had developed a bit of starch. Although Slipper won't be making any world 15 lists, he really is a warrior. Much respect.

Well, that game showed the value of Aumua and IWL I think. Lightweight tight 5 and small loosies isn't a recipe for success in Canboring. For all the great season Kirifi has had and the hype around Lakai, I thought Flanders was the pick of the Canes forwards.

Our setpiece and exits killed us last night. We couldn't build scoreboard pressure because every time we scored we let come down and equalize

                            Taking it well then

When you get knocked out in Canberra 3 times out of the last four seasons it gets fucking tiring.

If I was making an argument for Kirifi in the ABs it would be as a specialist bench loosie to attack the breakdown.

Reckon their could be real value there and could be an option if you ran a 6-2 bench

I don't think the AB coaches have the balls to do something like that though

The Brumbies played the same way they have for most of the season - their forwards hit the breakdown hard . I said a couple of weeks ago during the game against the Crusaders that I think they are the best once the ball hits the deck at either disrupting the ball or making it extremely difficult to get quick ball.

Now that does take its toll, but it’s a clear tactic that has been effective against most teams and was again last night.

Not to take away the fact that the Canes made errors, didn’t kick from hand as effective as they could’ve, but they were made to work hard for their possession.

Watching the game, it felt that they were in control of the breakdown for the majority of the game. We hammered away at their line three or so times during the game only for the Brumbies to get a turnover
