Excellent from the Chiefs, but will they win next week in Christchurch against the Crusaders with one day's less rest and preparation?

Chiefs can start engraving their name on the trophy, surely.

Nah, good to see two NZ teams in the final even if not my Hurricanes. It'll be a close one. I'm predicting 3 or fewer points in it.

@Darth-Sader No, I think home advantage, the experience of winning knockout matches and one day's extra rest all make the Crusaders slight favourites IMHO.

@sparky the Chiefs have shown they can unlock the Crusaders defence. The game last night was the template for how the Saders can win… but, I don’t think they’ll be able to hold the Chiefs …unless there’s another massive choke coming 😉

The Chiefs have plenty of experience winning knockout matches, just not finals (and non-knockouts qualifying finals)...

But yes would definitely have the Crusaders as favourites but also would not be surprised in the slightest if they Chiefs do get up.

Isn't that 3 finals in a row the Chiefs haven't won?
Got a gigantopithecus on their backs to deal with.
    So they win underdog status.

4 grand finals in 5 years if you count SRA. 2022 knocked out in the semis.

The two best teams are in the final. Both teams will have pressure for different reasons.

Shaun Stevenson failed his HIA in the last quarter of the game, that may put him out of the Final with the 12 day stand down for HIA fails.

Only if he fails his HIA2, which I think is the following day?

Taking bets on who referees this one? Gardner or BOK maybe?

Hopefully BOK. Aussie refs have finally caught up with how kiwis reffed the crusaders in the early noughties.

    I would expect O'Keffee as he didn't do a semi-final.

    Crusaders by a thousand..

I’m not sure our set piece will hold up in Christchurch. I don’t know if the Saders can challenge our line out to the same extent as the Blues, but it remains a risk. If they get Williams back, their scrum gets scary too.

I did not like how the Brumbies were able to find so much space to gain territory in the semi - they missed a couple of opportunities to score points that the Crusaders would have taken, and a couple of times the Chiefs got incredibly lucky with points and territory through the Brumbies just not marking up a pillar at the ruck. The Saders won’t do that either.

Christchurch is a fluffybunny of a place to win, and literally no one has ever done it in a playoff match. Thats a crazy stat.

I’m hoping we can turn it around but we fucked up two weeks ago and this is the huge (deserved) penalty - a home final for the Saders. I’d be feeling pretty confident as a Saders supporter.

The competition needs a team to beat them there, I hope we can do it.
