Lukhan Solokaio-Bell rolls off the tongue. Take a leaf out of Angus' book.

The only positives from an NZ perspective were Fakatava's passing looking crisp and accurate, Sotutu and Frizzell both up to the task physically.
For the Aussies, Edmed and LSL.
The others were all varying shades of dogshit.

Haven't read anything from the thread, but AUNZ No.5 and Frizell were very good. Otherwise, the Lions' juggernaut keeps rolling.

          Frizells discipline was pretty poor.

Frizell conceded three dumb penalties in the space of about five minutes before being shown a yellow card.

Absolutely inspirational hearing how well the South Africans Tongans Scotsmen played tonight. Bodes brilliantly for the test series.

FIVE Scots will be in the starting line up in the backs. Magnificent and unprecedented

I stopped watching at FT, so did they give an update on the outcome of the Fusitu'a YC?

Just watched. Anzac midfield pretty awful. Bizarre back subs made. Horrid back pass from Fakatava. I guess just nothing clicked for them.
MP don't look to get getting the old Laumape. Looks a bit slow.
The Lions were very clinical and impressive all round.

It was embarrassing how he slowed up when coming across in defence for the Big Saffas try and then he just waved the Aussie-Tongan through for his try.

Well that was embarrassing. Pleased about two issues:

                      1. I didn't spend any money going to it.
                      2. RA made the decision to make the black element of the jersey as small as possible.

Thinking ahead to 2029 and the B & I Lions tour to New Zealand, this game was a big of a wake-up for NZ Rugby.

If we put up thrown together line-ups that are marketing constructs or poorly prepared teams against the Lions, the results will be predictable. Hopefully, alongside the Super Franchises and the All Blacks, we will see proud, historic New Zealand provincial teams given a chance to down the Lions.

Provincial teams would get beaten like a red headed step child.

In fact I'd go so far as to say it could be an insurance issue such would be the disparity.

I'd be surprised if it weren't the exact same line-up of teams as 2017. The only team that doesn't fit quite as naturally is the NZ Barbarians - perhaps they would be subbed out for Moana Pasifika, or a Pasifika Barbarians side. Otherwise, it'll be the five Super Rugby franchises and the Maori All Blacks.

Most Ferners who were hoping to get Laumape back in NZ should be in a very different mood now. Of course, they didn't watch the Top 14 games where he was involved. He was already a shadow of his former self.

@Mr-Fish The Lions might want one more game, a fixture between Test One and Test Two for those outside the test 23. That could be a game against Moana P or the 2026 NPC Champs or the Ranfurly Shield holders in 2027.

Personally I'd love to see the Ranfurly Shield holders given a crack at the Lions.

It's possible but unless my memory's failing me (entirely feasible), the NZ tour had one more game than this tour to Australia, so you'd be taking that up to two more games than the current schedule, with tougher opposition, which seems unlikely?

There's a reason why they end up back in NZ. They're not wanted by anyone overseas.
