its not always the case but often when you receive a PM on the fern you receive an email notification.

I guess I must have been at some stage, but it would have been closer to the time back then so I would have remembered my password. When I update my laptop I just transfer everything across including all my saved passwords on my browsers so I haven't needed to remember it for a while now.
