Wallabies vs Lions III

Worst refereeing performance since Marius Jonker in the third Lions Test 2025
He is improving. One day he might be good enough to referee first class if he gets enough test experience.
(Interesting he seemed to consult with BOK a lot, moreover than Piardi.)

Just watched replay.
Match was officiated well, (TMO was a farce though, clean out on Lynagh, and then looking at nothing for 3mins ffs) Particularly pleased to see BIL constantly told not to put the ball in to the opposition to milk advantage / penalties at every ruck.
Bledisloe is going to be good this year, Wallabies galvanized through the BIL series and building some nice combos.
Officiating was bang average. Porter should be blown out of the game the way Al Baxter was. Genge is dodgy as well.
The Geogian ref doesn't enforce clear release or rolling away from the defending team which I don't like personally. He did a good job when the players were getting a bit stroppy. It was a good hard test.
Of the three the Italian bloke is the best. I'd rank them in this order.
Italian Bloke
Georgian Bloke
BOK
Jonker -
Hard to know how much to read into it ,
Wallabies have won dead rubber type games against us and got a bit carried away with how much it means , but good on them all the same
Just a shame they didn’t hang on in the second test and this one was the decider .

Questions should be asked of the following:
- WR continuing to use Marius Plonker as a TMO
- Amashukeli as the only Georgian who doesn't know a thing about scrums
- Farrell picking well out of form Irish players.

Is anyone almost relieved we haven't got any tests next week. It will almost be good to have a rest from whining etc about refs. As soon as we get to tests etc, it winds up to incredible levels, and almost seems nobody is actually enjoying the tests. Super is a step down, but not by much, one of the reasons I think that we enjoy NPC so much?

Was in a newsagent today for unrelated reasons, and picked up the Daily Telegraph which is a disgusting league rag, but had the Wallabies mentioned on the front and full page image on the back.
Naturally you have to dig through 10 pages of NRL to get to the Wallabies two-page spread.
One of the journos was saying that allowing Kiss to serve out his time at the Reds until mid next year is a mistake, and I can't help but agree.
We're going to take our lumps this TRC but at least with a new coach in place we could have a full 2 year runup to RWC2027

@Dan54 Just accept the whinging will happen and enjoy the rugby. That was a terrific test series in comparison to what the doomsdayers were predicting in the leadup.
I did mate, but as I said it be good to have a break from it for a week or so. I not getting at Aussies or Poms etc, just the higher level rugby is the more whining we seem to get.

Yup it'll be great for us all to just relax, take a deep breath, regather our thoughts and remember why we love the game they play in heaven and think about our actions a bit.

Hey you can't diss Al. He kept the Wobblies in teh 2003 RWC final single handedly!

Well done Aussie and congrats to NTA, Barbs etc. Your boys showed a lot of heart and a lot of fight across all three games and I feel only lost two halves of rugby overall; but that was enough for the BILs to take the series.
As others have already said, there were some odd selections on both sides that may have a made a difference to how things turned out.
For all the pre-tour talk about all places for the Lions test team being up for grabs, it was once again shown not to be the case and there was a level of intransigence in some of the selections. I get that when it is a 50/50 call, a coach will go with what he knows. Much has been said about the high number of Irishmen selected but that was expected on merit, they have been the most successful of the home nations for some time. However the evidence has been there for all to see, both during the tour and before that the 6N, that some were either no longer at the required level or were not quite there in the first place. Add on some risky bench selections and were are left wondering what could have been.
I'm guessing the Aussie fans would have a similar "what if" feeling too.

Williams has had good involvements since coming on
Did you notice Parling on the laptop with Frost and Williams during the weather break? You can bet they were analysing the BIL lineout, and then those two picked them off a number of times.
