Final: Canterbury v Otago
-
8 long years.
-
Canterbury doing what Canterbury does.
But boy have Otago been good to watch this year.
-
Congrats Canterbury. Awesome final.
-
Entertaining game for the most part. Some great skill on display.

Christie has been awesome again
I don’t think he has played a poor game all year, for the Saders and then Cantabs.
-
Well done Otago. Don’t think they were bad at all and would have beaten any other team today. Canterbury are just better squad and are more experienced. Their pack was insane today and completely negated Otago’s strength.
Still, what a season for Otago. They’ll be better for this

Was a very even game for the most part but that 15 minutes in the second half we just upped the pressure and really hit holes and dominated the contact. Our back 5 forwards really stood up in that period.
Another excellent NPC season overall.
-
TUJ was huge for Otago. Emotional finish for the young fella.

@jimmyb
..on your coms just all that collective super experience that have played together in terms of combination especially in numbers 1-8
You have got to give it to the Canterbury forwards that they can lay on platform despite having a tradesman like halfback and first coming back from 7s
Congratulations to Canterbury but so much credit Otago for showing they deserved to be in the final and despite the loss their supporters will have so much to look forward to.
Tom Christie should be player of the Npc imo
Just a word on Christian Lio Willie thought he was outstanding in a beaten team -

Congrats Canterbury, Death Star was too good this year. Great season by Otago. Good season by my boys The Bay. NPC was fun yet again, imagine if NZR actually cared about it.
Neeps mate , you sound like someone who doesn't live in NZ, there is no way I don't think NZR care about this comp.

It has been a great game, congratulations to Canterbury

Fucking hell, had to double take at Chapman playing his 50th... don't recall even hearing of him. 40 games for Ta$man with one try, then bags 5 for Canterbury in one season.
Mostly off the bench for Ta$man, because he's been stuck behind Christie and Hotham.
Pretty clear deal this year to swap him for the fading Mitch Drummond, so that Chapman gets gametime and can take the third Crusaders halfback slot. Which backfired (for Ta$man), when Hotham and Drummond got injured and Christie spent the season with the ABs.

@ACT-Crusader would have been a far better option than Kirifii…
