a lot of fringe ones...taylor, newall, blackadder, havili, reece and jordan is it?....barely heard of them......

@SouthernMann could be wrong but I feel like Lasaqa and Casey haven't been on the field at the same time together really, would like too see it eventually from an entertainment perspective, like I find the Canes most enjoyable when Lakai & Iose are in that lineup

I know we all love to be entertained, but I’d find it more entertaining when they find a balance in the backrow where they don’t have the second worst ruck % in the competition

@jimmyb I think Lavanini should help with that as a bigger body - but overall I firmly believe this is more down to tactics than personnel.
I think Lasaqa is massively hard done by. He was our best player last week, and I actually think in this one, we'd be better trying to close the game out with the more powerful players.
Broughton over Stodart is a big fat LOL for mine. He was fucken quality during the NPC, finally looked like he was finding his feet, and has played 0 minutes in the loose forwards.

Joking aside, does that team really strike fear into you? Obviously they're favourites, but I'd hardly say that team scares me.

@SouthernMann yep for sure. Without Tamaiti and Grace their pack looks way less dominating

it does me at super level....lots of guys that have a few titles under the belt and know how to win one way or the other

Especially with Will Jordan back. He's worth about 2 tries alone.

Will Jordan is good, but we've got our own threats. The rest of the backline and the pack hardly strikes fear in me.

Agree re. Lasaqa and Broughton. Withy lives a charmed life. Broughton was like a marshmallow last game

On Stodart. I just don't think he is viewed as a loosie within this playing group.

I don't. I wouldn't be surprised if his stats; power, pace, explosiveness, acceleration might not match what they are wanting out of their 6/8s. It might change a bit as the season heads into winter.
We effectively finish the game with one specialist lock and four loosies anyway when either Stodart or Haig come on.
Having a bit of a deeper look at the sides for tomorrow.
The starting teams are a bit more even than the straight 14 ABs v three.
Making a combined team. I'd pick four forwards from each team. With the Crusaders having a an edge in the backs. I'd pick our two wingers and have Jim and Havili as even. Take the Crusaders with the other positions. Their bench is a lot better than ours.

Bit of a village unnecessary error there fro. Fakatava and Lavanini
-
I'm quite keen to see Will Jordan take a sabatical

Howden in from the side and off his feet.
