Haven't read the whole thread, but your knee problem sounds remarkably similar to a problem I have had. Used to have the same dull pain with occasional wild bolts of pain in my right knee. First doctor hadn't a clue, but the knee specialist sorted it out.

The soft stuff on the inside of my knee cap was terribly bruised and uneven and as such caused small swellings inside the knee after training and matches. They fixed that in about 7 minutes, 3 small holes, a camera, a steel thingey and some sort of electric multi tool. Lifted the knee cap, polished the soft(ish) stuff behind the knee cap, closed the holes and 3 weeks later I was sweet as. I still get an occasional stab, but it's not a problem anymore.

Spent an hour chopping up part of our front yard this afternoon. There is so much disturbed ground out there now the the UN are going to be around shortly to look for mass graves!
Awesome workout, though. Keep it up! Brownie points with the missus too, I suspect. -

Outstanding work, mate! Congrats.
I'm just lurking, seeing as I'm lean and mean enough, but it's great to see the progress in here! -

Well, I have (reluctantly) gotten with the spirit of this and started going to the gym. Doing some free weights and 2.5 km runs on the tredmill. Have actually managed to get up to 70 kgs ... but am finding it VERY hard to cut out the beer (and gin and vodka and wine and ...) in order to tone the abs.

What are your strategies for this? I find drinking a cup of tea helps, but am trying to get to sleep early (have to start work earlier at the moment) aswell.
