Great intensity in wet, both teams play was affected by the conditions and used the conditions.
The ref was ok, he does like to make his presence felt usually.
ABs were accurate in both the 22s.
Felt Taukei’aho went well thrown in there early. Vaa’i was huge, all over the boks and just enjoyed the game by the looks.
Parker is a great wall to have at 6 and had support from both Savea and Sititi who stayed tight often.
Sititi didn’t look too bad after limited rugby, good all round at tackles, carries, metres.
Christie did well I thought for where he’s at and at this level.
BB had some nice assists on the tries which were defining, couple good kicks, couple bad.
The kicking game is here to stay between the 22s, where just not gunna be the ball in hand multi phase team until inside our 22.
Proctor had a better game, quietly went about his work, Conrad like even.
Back three went alright together, dmac secured the high ball well. Jordan was better, still missed a few, more support around this time.

That game kinda put the argument to rest that BB is crowding or taking over from Mo’unga. Dmac was doing pretty much the same thing. It's a game plan not a BB issue.

Absolute cracker in the wet!! Forwards are fantastic at the moment.

Could we see Jordie Barrett as captain??? He's likely to be the 12 going forward under Razor, plays 80mins, will go through to 2027, he's been captain for the Canes more often even with others in there this year.

@canefan with TJ and JB being playmakers it gives the ability to move each around, Cameron is used on the next phase ball to free up proctor and rayasi etc.
Most 10s stand deep on defense nowadays, the whole thing looks to be a system developed by blyndell to utilize each player, as opposed to making it a mess.

@Dan54 After reading up from the last few months info, there does look to possibly be a fear from the PUs when things are all being analyzed that Super Rugby Unions will takeover the running of rugby i.e the secondary schools, club comps etc over the 5 areas or even expanded to 8 or 9. I'm not saying this is good or bad, but there has been talk from Super CEOs about a 24 week comp which can only be done with NPC out of the way.

@Canes4life this is the main issue with SR and an argument could be made to make games Sundays, the 1st point of the audience is 150,000 players plus two or three people by association, 400,000 - 600,000 people in total, most will be busy at there local club, only a small fraction available to attend.

Super simple, basic, easy plan to follow this week.

While this big governance review is going on and possible changes to the national rugby structure, points for them to consider in no particular order:

• double round robin Super Rugby with an emphasis on home games in provincial cities, allocated days for different levels of rugby.
• NPC as an amateur competition for Senior A club players to aspire too.
• Super Rugby Development or under 21s played as a curtain raiser comp for 10-15 weeks
• Everything the same as it is now but with allocated days for rugby levels i.e pro rugby- Sunday, club - Saturday, junior and high school- midweek
• phase out super rugby when licences end and replace with PU 10 team pro comp starting June after 8 weeks of club.
• 10 High Performance districts instead of 31ish currently
• NZRPA create LIV Rugby and 200 players go off shore and we play amateur rugby

After not playing for 6 weeks we get one we shouldn't have, the guys will take that, put it through the system.
Sititi doesn't miss a step after not playing!! thought BB kept us in it with a couple of touches, but also put us under pressure.

Couple points from the game:

1. Pretty much sums up our season under Razor.
2. That stadium is great, we need more like that in NZ!! Puts the crowd on top of the players.

@canefan need a impact back, only difference maker could be Tupaea into 12 and Jordie one out to 13, give him some more space.

@His-Bobness which is just baffling from Razor and Co, you would think they would have encouraged more running by now or just dropped him for Love or dmac etc.
Or if there happy with the shuffle passes, create something with dummy runners or have him shuffle pass wider to runners.
Or get some variation from him, chip, cross kick, shuffle pass, up and under, round the back, inside pass, wide cut out pass, keep the opposition guessing.
