Nah, not really. Her attitude was pretty crap for basically the whole of last year.

Some bad days may have coincided, but I wouldn't label them as part of the cause, just this generation & their expectations of entitlement.
-

Well, she has moved back home this week.

Decided that her parents aren't all that bad & agreed to a couple of simple house rules.

She is looking at doing a couple of courses (yes we'll pay, but that is what parents are for after all) & looking for a part time job.

She no longer expects everything to be her way (mostly) & is actually looking forward & wanting to have some control over her future & not wanting to become a waste of space (her words).

Things are going really well in the house at the moment (I'm aware that this might just be a honeymoon period though) & communication is at an all time high.

It took 3 weeks & was hard to do as parents, but I think the "real world experience" has taught her a lot in a very short space of time.

Apparently life sucks with no money & no one will just give it to you. Go figure.
-

2 daughters, oldest was bullied all through high school, but did really well at brushing it off (mostly), was into everything & is now at uni doing a bachelor of science majoring in chemistry (don't tell Winger, but she's right into climate change & we have some really good discussions about it around the dinner table when she's home). On uni - be prepared, it costs a small fortune for parents if you live out of town.

She put the bullying down to having to learn life lessons & all in all she is a bloody good kid & still does what she's asked/told.

The youngest, well you read above what she's like now, but until 15 she was super talkative & wouldn't shy away from anything or anyone, very empathetic, everybodies friend, loved school & very artistic (most of those qualities came from the wife I reckon).

She turned 15 & became a different kid. Pretty much became the bully & when we confronted her about that, got into self harming (I don't get that shit, I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to causing pain to myself on purpose).

Fighting between them was the norm though, argued over everything, including who got more pieces of hokey pokey in a bowl of ice cream.
-

We have made a point of saying that the door is always open & that she will always be welcome to come home if she is prepared to follow a couple of simple rules.

I'm picking (hoping) that after a couple of months in the real world, she'll work out that having to follow a few rules really isn't that bad & be back at home with us paying for the course that she wants to do.

I'm pretty keen to know outcome as well.
-

Good on you for not backing down, do winz get in touch with you if she applies for that benefit? I would have thought there'd have to be a decent reason for to be able to get it rather than she doesn't want to say " is that a regular or large combo?".

They have asked why she needs to leave home.

We have said that she doesn't, she just needs to go to school or get a job, we are happy to do what parents should be doing & that she WANTS to leave.

Their reply was pretty much, Ahh... another teenager thinking she knows best & rebelling against authority & her parents.

At this stage no benefit, but she still believes that she is entitled to one & is now citing mental health issues (depression from having to do what her parents say).

There have been some rather scary threats that as a parent you never want to hear.

So she is currently leaving with the assumption that once she has left she will get what she wants.
-

I've got a 16 year old daughter threatening to leave home because I don't want her to drop out of school.

Get a qualification or get a job I said.

She said the government would pay her a benefit if she was to leave home & I didn't have any idea what it's like to be a teenager & not get what I want.

I'm currently helping her pack her bags.

Not ideal I know, but how else do I teach her about the real world?
-
Some pretty wild backstage stories about him too. Totally at odds with the geeky white guy image that was portrayed, the man was a sexually deviant animal by some accounts.
See, I always thought that he was the true king.
Look at what he started for all others to follow in his footsteps. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n Roll. -
Spent most of the weekend working, and had Buddy Holly rolling in a continuous loop for most of it. Fabulous songwriter, and those short snappy rockabilly numbers help make the time fly.
In my opinion, Buddy was the real king of rock 'n roll. Shame we didn't hear so much more from him.

The 1st non negro to get a standing ovation at the Appolo theatre, after they booed him when he 1st walked out onto stage. -
