It’d be awesome if Leiliifano makes the wallabies again after all he’s been through .

He started against Argentina, didn't he?

Dunno , life’s too short to watch the wallabies

He was there. It was awesome to watch. If he's starting 10 I would not begrudge the Wallabies winning the RWC. What a story that would be.

    Stuff that.

Seriously dude, if you can't begrudge them a win because of CL then you have a heart of stone

I’ve met Lilo a couple of times. Great guy and awesome story. But it’s the Qantas Wallabies and the only time I ever remotely raise a smile when they play is if they beat the Boks. So no, I don’t want them to win the cup. No fairy tale for Christian. No redemption for Cheika. No vindication for the whole handling debacle of Folau. No way to seeing Hooper holding Billy Ellis.

Hold on a sec. Who said redemption for Cheika. This is solely about CL. For him and him alone I could stomach a Wallabies win.

except that wouldn't be the only story would it? All those other things would also come in a neat package.

Along with the reinforcing of the theory you can play dogshit test rugby for 4 years, and label it building for the world cup, and it's a successful practice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, NZ winning back-to-back RWCs was the best thing for world rugby. The emphasis on the RWC and the degrading of every other game inbetween were a blight on the game. Clive Woodenknob even mentioned the farking RWC as a yardstick when his Lions were reamed. After a Lions series FFS. But Aus were probably the worst. That "building nicely for the world cup" BS was infuriating. Definitely don't want that back.

Well he did go from winning the RWC to getting hammered 3-0 so I can completely see his point to be fair.

Although if those results were reversed I'm sure his stance would too.

In much the same way when he said he could easily achieve in soccer and cricket what he’d achieved in rugby that was believable. After all 76-0 is a score you associate more with cricket than rugby .

Btw he said that before the poms actually won the rwc .

Yeah I could handle Johnson, Dallaglio, Greenwood, Back, Hill and other Poms that I admired as players winning the RWC.

The fact Woodward and Dawson did shits me no end.

Was Austin Healey in that 2003 team? He was the biggest pillock of the lot. Goldie absolutely made him his bitch in 98. How the f did he make the Lions?

Healey has written a couple of decent columns which put him a bit higher in my estimation.

Matt Dawson did the hakarena which confirms what a grade A dickwad he is.

Healey seems like you could have a beer with him , Dawson is the annoying loud cock at every bar you avoid eye contact with in case you get stuck talking to him .

I had to re-read that as I thought you were talking about some TSF folk for a second.

Not many here that I wouldn't have a beer with.

Admittedly that is because I like beer.

It's been interesting reading comments about the recovery mission. I've been involved in a couple of search and rescue ops and sadly they were ultimately recoveries. I agree with the concept that you don't risk known lives to recover known dead.

I very nearly had a mid air searching for a missing plane in PNG as my mate and I figured that they would be in the same valley as it was a well known trap for new guys (which the pilot was). Unfortunately it is easy to get a bit over enthusiastic when trying to save people and can risk others - including your own life. Sadly all 10, including children were killed in that one.

As for burns - they wouldn't let me on a commercial flight for two weeks with mine and looked at medivac for me. I was lucky enough to have a doctor mate who spent an hour every morning picking the dead skin off me and cleaning the wounds until I got home to have some grafts (fortunately none are really noticeable). Along with the infections in a tropical climate it is probably safe to say she saved my life.

My own experiences have made all of this is a bit close to home for me.I feel for everybody involved.

@MajorRage said in Awesome stuff you see on the internet:

@Snowy did you try the “Sully” incident?

If so, did you get to teteborough and realize he cost them millions?

Yep, tried it. Wouldn't have made Teteborough although it isn't far away. Didn't hear of anyone who succeeded in the sim. The NTSB also said "The Board rejected the notion that the pilot could have avoided ditching by returning to LaGuardia or diverting to nearby Teterboro Airport." So he saved them millions and all of the lives.

One of the things that got mentioned in the movie was that he should have turned back - first thing you are taught for engine failure (single engine) after take of is "don't turn back" the physics of making a turn (and using your lift to do so) mean that is nigh on impossible. The same applies to multi engine failure.

One of the few things that he got wrong was to not push the ditching push button which closes up the pack outflow valves, etc. Basically means that there are no holes open in the bottom of the aeroplane and it will float for longer. Not a huge error under the circumstances.
