The SBW and the gifted medal is getting far too much time imo, so I'll offer up this far more enjoyable 11 minute (or so) read on SBW and boxing.

It's from a North & South article in 2013 - but repurposed for the web.

Really interesting reading so far - some interesting thoughts on the state of English football, and some interesting analysis of the numbers. Statistics can always be used to paint a picture that backs up your perspective, but I like the challenge of some of the ideas. Interesting to consider how a similar data analysis of international rugby might look. -

October (I think) brings the return of "The Walking Dead"

Admittedly that is awhile away. -
Haven't seen the Terminator series, I saw she plays Connor. Worth a watch just for that?
I enjoyed Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. She took the Sarah Connor character in a nice direction - still really strong, but not as nuts. As said - it was just starting to get good when it got cancelled.

@Nepia - I really enjoyed the world created in Deadwood - huge ensemble cast, all of them strong - and the language/writing was really solid. I had to watch with sub-titles on at times - to actually understand some of the "English" - it was a definite challenge. But I think I liked that challenge.

Cancelled after 3 seasons unfortunately. But kind of understandable - due to the production quality and scape - it must have been expensive.

Did you ever try Carnivale? -
I'm assuming you haven't seen The Wire? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
I've not sat down to watch the Wire - am waiting on borrowing the DVD sets off my brother.

I can however say that Deadwood was pretty high up on my list of high quality HBO programming. Like eating a kobe steak dinner compared to most other dramas.
Mild spoiler below (for those waiting for its NZ airing):
Do you think this will actually get picked up by any of the NZ channels? I can't see it fitting any of TVNZ's brackets - and the AO rating/scenes will surely get it dumped into an 11:30pm or later slot.

Deadwood never made it here - nor did the Wire. Did Rome? -
Grab it on a Monday - watch it on a Tuesday, while the wife watches Greys and the other medical show with all attractive medical staff, doing dramatically emotional, yet ultimately shallow activities whilst listening to Snow patrol and other assorted white noise.

Torrenting TV... priceless. -
Awesome stuff that you'l never get to see again.... Final ever launch of space shuttle Endeavour in approx 5 hours.
I think this is the same technology the used on the AB TV commercials with Nonu, Jane and co - and with the NFL fantasy squad ones.
If it's not - it's an insanely superb reaction from this fella.
Either way - pretty cool catch.
Just watched the 2nd, looking like a very quality show, genuinely scary without too much over the top cheesyness. Roll on episode 3!
Torrented episodes 1 and 2 - and just watched them today - outstanding start. Really like the characters that are being set up - the main lead reminds me of Jesse - from the comic "Preacher"

Frank Darabont and Gale Ann Hurd both producing - so it's bound to be a good story. Rock on Episode 3
