now that I don't weigh as much as a small pony, the thought of running half marathons does not seem so far fetched or daunting, but I have never really been a runner. Still, Mrs B walked a HM the other month at huntly with no training, and she might be keen once this bodybuilding kick is over and done with, if that happens at all that is - it is fun!

Cato with a top don't drink and fry story!

From many 7's summers with multiple grass burns in not so great places, I highly recommend dressing it with paraffin gauze and just a (telfa?) pad over the top, taped on two sides so it's still a little open.

You'll need to peel the gauze off under water everyday but definitely heals it up quickfast and tidy.

Been trying to tell the Wife that, she's Kiyaking (fucked the spelling of that didn't I) Bike riding, running walking Les Mills etc... doing two or three of them each day and yet stressing out because she put on a Kilo last week or worring weather she's doing enough. She's become a fitness junkee but can't see that she's becaome addicted even though the rest of us think she is.

Personally I'm trying to keep it simple and most importantly enjoyable. From dropping a Kilo and a half a week I dropped to about 3/4 of a kilo but have picked up to the recommended 1 kilo a week in the last couple of weeks, dispite actually being a bit slack. I don't worry if I sneak some food I shouldn't but I do try to keep it just to a taste (and don't always suceed) but life is too short to go without some of the things that make it worth living like Beer and Pudd.

I've currently dropped 27 Kilos and my new target is 30..... I've desided to keep the targets low. Do it 5 kilos at a time. The important thing is my Knees and heel seemed to be getting better although after finally getting to my doc last week and being sent for some X-rays (and blood tests etc.... It'd been two years and he wanted his monies worth) he believes I might need an op so is sending me to a specialist. (3 Specialists actually, one for the knee, one for carpel Tannel a one for the heel spur.) He tryed to send me to the Carpel Tunnel one (however thats spelled) 2 years ago but I never went so got a bullicking on that and promiced I'd get it down this time.... He must think I'm made of money.

I can now remove my trouses without undoing the belt (which is on max) or undoing any buttons or the fly (provided I don't have a hard on) and these are a pair that were too small six months ago. All my shirts are like tents and I'm rewearing cloths I'd given up wearing. However I'm also getting soft.... Bloody Canberra is so cold now that I've lost a lot of the boddy fat that used to keep me warm and Brisbane isn't much better once the sun has set. Have had to start wearing my leather jacket when on the moterbike. Becoming a real sook.

PS like the new name Bart but you should change the B to a W remembering the Moari pronciation.

I believe the one that I ran up was Stone Street. Starting from the bottom at Kaikorai Valley Road then all the way to the top. What a bitch that was.

I've been concentrating on these a lot more over the last year or 2 as I took up Dragonboating and was looking to up the lat strength. Pretty much exclusively doing the wide grip, palm away variety. Have always found with chin-ups that I hit the wall pretty bady, ie. I can do 15 first set, then 9-10 for next one then decreasing from 8-5 over next 4-5 sets (I try to get to 50 total).

I'm finding it hard to break a plateau I've hit now too, so might have to look at a weight belt eusa_think

Good call Mariner, I've got a 200M decent gradient asphalt hill strip across the road and have started smashing out 30-45 minute sets. Can see why you hate them, but already starting to see some early benefits.

Well I did as suggested and did no weights for a week, just shot home for some cheeky curls and presses and they felt great ! good to rest the joints for a week or so....probably did me the world of good actually.

I have never heard of it in my life, and from my vast scientific knowledge (none), it does sound like bollocks to me.

But anything is worth a try if you are picking up lots of injuries.

Doing the same old thing all the time and getting the same old injuries means something might need to change, and even if it is just 'bandaging of the brain', if it works, it is good!!!
Weight heading in the right direction. Down to 109.2kg. Haven't been under 110kg in a while. Downside is all my suits are now too big. Oh well..prefer that than they be too small.
Amazing how a mere 5 or so kg can make a big difference in the size of a suit. They do look a bit silly but tailors are good at taking them in as needed !
