Only saw the 1st episode. Perhaps I should persist?

First episode was definitely a bit jarring because you're naturally making a lot of comparisons between characters etc. But enjoyed it more from episode two onwards.

I saw the previews for it and it looks awful going by that only. Also, Oz made Utopia which is an office set show that is brilliant.

Well, I'll wait and see if people I know IRL recommend it.

I fear that Disclaimer will have a rather unconvincing, cop-out conclusion.

Mayor of Kingstown stupidity update. Fucking stupidly stupid.

    This bloke Mike is apparently:

-The best fighter you've ever seen, either hand to hand or in shootouts and in both scenarios he's fighting off multiple assailants. FFS, they could have at least had an offhand comment saying he was a Navy Seal before going to prison as he's essentially Rambo trapped in Jeremy Renners body.
-He's the best policeman who ever lived, and all the real police snap to attention whenever he gives them an order.
-He's also the best prison guard/warden who ever lived and constantly tells them how to do their jobs.
-He's essentially a serial killer, but because he's the best policeman who's ever lived it doesn't really matter.

And yes, I'm still fucking watching it as I'm to useless to stop the autoplay between seasons.

Yeah now that's a heck of a lot more ridiculous than MoK.

I think we may have just watched the same episode. It's great stuff, innit?

    Absolutely done to death.

I see there’s spin off shows with lots of the main characters now. Ridiculous. It should have stopped at about season 5

The Penguin was a really good series with superb performances from the lead actors. The perfect final episode.

Learned today that the guy who played Streethawk in the titular 80s TV show ("The Man, Machine, Streethawk"), Rex Smith, also had a mediocre music career.

Currently on Ep 5 of The Day of the Jackal remake on Sky Atlantic and Sky Showcase, here in the UK. Eddie Redmayne starring in what is essentially 2024’s version of The Night Manager. Quite enjoyable and Redmayne plays the complex Jackal well.
