I gave Once upon a time in Hollywood another watch.
Probably 4-5 times in total now.
Gee whiz it’s the hardest Tarantino movie to rate in my opinion.
Leo is fucken cool and Brad is even cooler. Their chemistry is awesome. Margot Robbie is lovely to look at. It is full of snappy dialogue ( of course ). The period is captured brilliantly. The Spahn ranch scene and finale are awesomely violent.
BUT…..
There is heaps of pointless filler, it really, really drags at times. I really drifted off in some scenes. There is fuck all in terms of actual storyline
I still can’t decide where it ranks overall, at its absolute best it’s well up there……but at its worst it’s down there……
So it’s probably about 5th out of 10 ( assuming you rank Kill Bill as two films )
What’s really impressive about it is it’s stacked cast of unknowns at the time…
Austin Butler, Mikey Madison, Sydney Sweeney, Margaret Qualley. Maya Hawke
All pretty big now (pun intended re Sydney Sweeney)
And of course it wouldn’t be a Tarantino movie without feet
How THE FUCK did I miss her !?!?!?
She’s about the hottest chick in Hollywood at the moment.
Pulp Fiction
Inglorious Basterds
Django
Reservoir Dogs
OUATIH
Jackie Brown
KB2
H8ful 8
KB 1
Death Proof
Even then I’m not sure how accurate this list is ( I haven’t watched Pulp Fiction in years, is it still number one ? Django improves every time I see it, Jackie Brown is great but others have surpassed it etc ) the only sure thing is the one that sits last and even that has some awesome moments.
