OK, so if we can have a geeky GoT thread we can have a cool SW thread as well.

Finally a few confirmed details have come out about Ep VII

My first visit to the movies was to see Episode IV with the old man. At last the circle will be complete, when I take CF Jnr to VII.... (cue best Darth Vader voice). Who will the regulars be? The droids and maybe Chewbacca would be obvious choices. Harrison Ford still looks good, not sure about Carrie Fisher but Mark Hamill would have to get off his cheesburger diet because he is looking most un-Jedi he is

Ditto.

I don't care if Hamill and Fisher are carrying a little more weight in their older years. People generally tend to do that and any new Star Wars fan won't care anyway.

The real danger to this movie is J.J. Abrams and his fucking lens flares.

Is there a scene where Leia beats Jar Jar Binks to death with one of R2D2's legs?

God I hope so.

I watched my collectors whatever edition of Episode IV with CF Jnr tonight. I hope that Disney do a better job with the CGI than Lucas did. The added bits, especially in the Mos Eisley sequence were a bit average IMHO

Just saw an ad for a new cartoon on Disney XT about the birth of the Rebel Alliance. Certainly gave me a semi. Hopefully Disney will make some movies based on this period. To tell you the truth im not really looking forward to seeing Han, Luke and Lea with their walking frames.

Luke in the Obi Wan style role will work, not sure about the other two. Fisher has been losing weight apparently.

Just adding energy into the new Star Wars will be an improvement. And the main criticism of the new Trek is that it's too much like Star Wars, so there is that.

Rumours of Boba Fett and Han Solo standalone movies too

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Some of the extended universe stuff in books is really good. If XII is set 30 years post ROTJ then they have obviously discarded the lot.

Yeah, I see some of the fans of that stuff are going mental but I'm pretty happy for that stuff to get wiped away. Especially crap like Luke turning to the dark side, or Emperor clones.

Does Luke turn to the dark side? That would almost put me off seeing the new movies. I would hate my memory of Luke tarnished like that.

In some of the extended universe crap that's being ignored he does. They haven't finished the script on the new movie yet, so nobody knows what the new story is about.

Was that authorized by Lucas or some geeky fanboy's dreamed up story?

Any of the published EU stuff had to have storylines approved by Lucas. He has always maintained though, that there are two 'truths'. The Films and the books.

I doubt any of the post ROTJ novels stuff will come through in VII. Being set 30 years down the track would need far too much explanation of what happened in the years inbetween otherwise.
