That the Nambian rugby team are called the Welwitschias.

And in turn that Welwitschia is a monotypic genus of gnetophytes containing only the species Welwitschia mirabilis. (Translated: a weird plant that grows in the Namib desert.)

If they don't start building out power stations at a similar rate to China, electricity is going to get expensive over there.

lol!!! i have been meaning to post that. Thanks to whoever put me on to it, great fucking read!!

I too watched TTSS recently, but only after i read the book. I am currently reading the next book in that trilogy, The Honourable Schoolboy.

Prior to The Spy and the Traitor i read a brilliant, detailed, but encylopedia-lengh biography on Napoleon, called very simply "Napoleon: A life" by Andrew Roberts. Great book, but in all honesty you have to be pretty interested as it is very fucking long. Good detail on the battles of a peerless military career, but also a huge amount of explanation of his nation building. I enjoyed it but it did take me a while.

A bit more on those poor kids living in the wilderness. No surprise that they have names like they do.

Successful launch, starship made it into their target trajectory in space.

Booster didn't make it - they tried a steep angle of descent and a hard burn - looked like issues with lighting the raptor enginers.
    Starlink deploy didn't happen

Waiting on re-entry. Big test coming up for renewed heat shield

    On a lighter note......

Hopefully Scotland centre Joe Ansbro is doing ok after this vicious attack from his own teammate celebrating a glorious victory over Australia

Dunno if it has been mentioned but 'McLaren'.

    Available on Stan.

    Watched on plane today.

Life of Bruce McLaren. Racing car driver and founder of the McLaren race car team.

    Really liked it.

He the all round nice guy stereotical Kiwi laconic bloke who became the champion driver then created the McLaren race car team with a bunch of other Kiwis and number 8 wire.

Expect there were embellishments but if it was half true (the Le Mans story was different to 'Ford v Ferrari' ๐Ÿ™‚ ) it was awesome.

Taken ... shall we say succumbed... too young.

Great Kiwi story. Not just him, but the team.

    Well worth a watch.
