Keen to hear from others and what they have come across
The mrs just sent me a pic of our daughters school news letter. It's regarding new kids to our local primary school ( yes we are out West Auckland, sort of)
Can't imagine what the poor kid's parents were thinking...

None of the names are what you would call 'normal' but one stands out from the rest..

Told the mrs the kids won't know what the fuss is but I bet a lot of parents will be looking around at pick up time trying to find this 80's heavy metal band.

Still, it would be pretty cool saying that you literally had Metallica at your kids birthday party!

Apparently he/she is in a class quite far from our daughters one.
But yeah how hard to spot a run down Ford Falcon smashing out 80's heavy metal music from a cassette tape while mum walks over with teased hair, animal print skirt and or top,

UGH. All those names. Why would you do that to a little kid?

Again proof that brain is not a prerequisite to breeding.

On the rock radio station (bogans choice of station) some one called in with the name Blaze. That started it rolling for other 'trash' names as they called them
The 'winner' was a poor wee girl who's cousin marrying parents named her 'Random'. I shit you not

Sure. Much more likely than them being cretins who think Raven is a cool name but the spelling is just not adventurous* enough.

Your willingness to think the best of people is refreshing though!

* Re the weird spellings, we were at a thing a few weeks ago and my Sis-In-Law's friend went off her rocker at some poor bloke who inadvertently disrespected her by spelling her kid's name Drayvin. Apparently it's Drayvyn, obviously.

I live my life with my name being mispelt or being called by my last name.

You get that with being called Robin though

Brilliant idea for a thread, I've had an ongoing joke with my uncle regarding names like these for several years.

Will post a few up when I've got time to read through old texts

I remember someone posted a study of sorts on here a while back. Found that kids with shit names didn't fail in life due to their name, but due to the fact they were raised by people stupid enough to call them that in the first place.

I'm sure a few of you have read Freakanomics.

There's chapter or so devoted to the subject, apparently what you name your kid has a huge influence on their future success
