The French scrum is far from being dominant, I even expect the All Blacks to dominate this phase, particularly when Ofa T and Tosi will come off the bench.

I’d be tempted to throw lakai in the deep end at 7 and just tell him to rip in

If he’s knackered at halftime replace him then

From Hansen's comments, it sounds like that's exactly what they're going to be doing.

    France v New Zealand
    Referee: Nika Amashukeli (Geo)
ARs: Matt Carley (Eng) & Andrea Piardi (Ita)
    TMO: Marius Jonker (SA)

Just seen this. FFS. I wonder what new way he will find to piss me off and ruin the match? That is aside from his usual unwanted (and unwarranted) intervention, to go along with his incorrect and random rulings (even when he is asked). With Carley on the sideline the chances of this being 15 v 15 for long aren't high.

Needless to say those two are not my favourite officials. I really wish that Bonkers had been removed permanently when they demoted him about 15 years ago. He has never got any better. Hopefully Amashukeli has the balls to ignore too much outside input.

It will be great if officiating isn't a topic after the match, but my hopes for that eventuality have just plummeted.

@Snowy I’m not a fan of Amashukeli. Thought he has looked a bit out of his depth.

I know he is still relatively new at test level but he seems a little gun shy to blow the whistle on obvious stuff.

Could we run a poll on the preferred loose trio this weekend? Keen to see what the actual consensus is?

@ACT-Crusader Dupont is so far and away the best player in the world right now - he's an absolute freak. Pretty much everything he touches turns to gold.

The one caveat is that he's only a couple of months back into playing international XVs, but that's not really a massive issue.

I wouldn’t select one French player in a combined Rainbow Warrior XV….

    Comedy Gold

The French may not have anyone in the run on xv but they would clearly provide the bomb squad

Savea or Sititi at 8 will depend on how confident we are in our scrum. Do we need young Wallace with another key responsibility at his age if the scrum is under pressure all night?

Our scrum held it's own against SA, England and Ireland. We should be alright.
I'd be keen for Savea 7, Finau 6 and Sititi 8

They might opt for Sititi 7, Finau 6, Savea 8

Out scrum doesn’t seem as potent as it was earlier in the year. Maybe it’s because De Groot isn’t starting? But the scrum doesn’t seem as strong until the reserves trot on

Quite an impressive young man. More comfortable in front of the cameras than SB!

    Looks like a future captain.

Yeah - I wonder whether that's a bit of purposeful misinformation, or whether they're going "next man up!"

Looking forward to seeing the team!

I still don't understand why he's not captain and calling the lineouts yet.

They're keeping that warm for Roigard

On the plus side, he does like to keep the game moving and isn't card-happy.

Our forward pack is starting to look rather fearsome.👍
How the heck did we make it to here.

It was always going that way once we got a better props in De Groot and Lomax. The fact that we have real depth now at prop is a great foundation to build a pack on. With Sititi coming out of nowhere and Holland on the horizon, the AB pack can become outstanding over the next 12-18 months

Add in Lakai for Cane and if he can make strides as fast as Wallace, we could be young and dynamic very quickly

Yeah I'd have Lakai on the bench against France. He can cover 6,7,8 if needed as well. He could be the perfect bench player for us over the next few seasons until Ardie's form drops right off and he takes his place.

So he should start against France?

I'd love him to start. I mean Sititi took to international footy like a duck to water, I'm confident Lakai can do the same, he's physically capable of it.
