Would have been good experience for some newer players

Instead we got to watch old heads fumble around the field for 80 minutes.

    Great.

At the end of the day, this test means nothing, and regardless of what happens from here, is one nobody will remember. Lest we forget last time we played Italy in Italy, it was also a shitfest.

I think this was probably partly down to the fact a bunch of old guys didn't really fancy playing properly after a long tour in zero degrees temperatures.

This isn't exactly on the coach, because he wasn't the one kicking the ball, dropping it, failing to clear rucks etc. Italy clearly wanted it to be fair to them, but that was horrific. Plenty of time to reflect on this season, but I will say making sweeping statements on this game alone is a little silly.

Not a great watch but want to pay respect to Sam Cane and TJ Perenara for their time in the black jersey

I thought it was a forward pass, went back, still do. Tho the angle was poor so I could be wrong

If the performance of the team isn't on the coach then what is he there for? Vibes?

                Overall for the tour:
Razor picked players out of form, burnt out, or recently injured.
There were plenty of younger and fresher caps and inform players who could have been tested.
I am trying to think of a newbie found wanting at this level and all I can think of is Finau, and he still showed some glimpses.

It is not all his fault though is it.

I think this is a good lesson to Razor, that at the end of a long tour, a long season (our longest ever?) when you are about to play in zero degree temperatures, picking the old guys who can't wait to get back to their families isn't the play.

The key, and we will talk about this at length, is that Robertson learns from this season, and the evidence of his coaching career is that he will. Writing him off after a year is silly, asking for him to be sacked is silly. Lets review things at the end of next year.

Absolute masterclass from Razor and the AB's today. They have emulated the Crusaders winning approach totally. Absorb lots of goalline pressure, concede cards where needed to save worse, and use their weapon of scrum ming for penalties to the absolute max. Stunning!

Gee haven't Italy improved from conceding 96 points to Fozzie's rabble last year.
In fact it was such a complete performance, I might look for something more flawed to watch next year, like NRL.

The best thing you could say about the performance is that it was a real step backwards…

I totally agree, though the flip side of this of course, is that the newbies who have played are the cream of the crop. The forwards have been good all year, but definitely could have done with some fresh blood at 10 and 12... for whatever people think of DMac he isn't fresh blood. Could they have gone Lam? Obviously, whether he is the answer they won't know until they give them a go.

There should be plenty to play for in the Super season.

This isn't exactly on the coach, because he wasn't the one kicking the ball, dropping it, failing to clear rucks etc.

I always chuckle at statements like this.

If the performance of the team isn't on the coach then what is he there for? Vibes?

Tactics are for the coach, execution is for the players - although that is overly simplistic.

Beauden's silly kicks for instance - he has done them under Hansen, Foster and Robertson. He has done them all through Super Rugby. Let's be honest, that is how he likes to play rugby and no-one has ever coached it out of him. You can't put that on Robertson, although you can blame the selections.

Sure, if we ignore he selected and coached them.

Let’s review things at the end of next year.

He needs to be ruthless going into next year for both players and coaching team. No more bros before hoes.

We lack ball carriers across the park that can bend the line consistently. You need that against fast line speed. We will struggle until we can address this issue.

I dont think Razor brought through enough new talent considering he had 14 matches.

Too conservative at the selection table.

He made me double down on players I came into the season already sick of.
