Hey fellow ferners, I seeking advice. Got a couple of fruit trees in back garden, look to have a decent crop of plums and pears coming on, as well as blackberries etc. Anyone got good advice for keeping birds of them? Blackberries are I can cover with netting, but pears, plum and peach tree are a bit big to do that too. What personal good results have any of you had with keeping birds away?

Hell the fern is becoming my place of seeking advice more and more lol

I heard something about getting some rocks about the same size/shape of the fruit, painting it the right colours, and leaving them strewn about the trees. Won't work immediately, but will teach the fucks over time that this fruit ain't so tasty.
( Or that they should stick to the stuff on the branches.... 🤷 )

My old man has a fruit orchard up north, he uses owl decoys hanging off the trees to scare them off (and you need to move the decoys around otherwise they get used to them).

Though in all honesty unless your going to go out there and shoot them regulary (and if you're into the more macarbe solutions hanging the dead bodies off the tree works as well) there's no way your going to be able to keep them off the fruit.
