That doesn't work so well in Oz as Aldi were the last chain to get self checkouts.
Last time I was in one in the UK it didn't have it either...which is why I generally can't be bothered going.

ha! Well it isn't a pillar. And a plinth AFAIK is usually a base per se, not a base that looks like a (distorted) ionic column. If it can be a column used as a base, well it still ain't no pillar.
