Have watched a few films recently because of flying. Started Fall Guy but bailed pretty early. Had heard good things about this. Thought it was shit.
I watched this a few days ago. Based on seeing the trailer at another movie I had no intention of watching it, but it was much better than I expected. Obviously you can switch the brain off and just enjoy. Some cameos at the end too.
Agree on Fall Guy as a switch off your brain and enjoy film, plus it was filmed in Sydney so lots of areas I know well, and once I saw it realised I had seen some of the filming taking place. It's always funny seeing the geography of things when you know a city. The boat chase from the apartment started in Pyrmont and ended up in some other part of the harbour while being in the same place as part of the scene.
It has been a pretty average year for stand out movies this year - I genuinely think I'll struggle to put a top 10 for the year together. I've been pretty consistent with watching a movie a week but this year I've gone to way more I've known nothing about going in - which is sometimes a good thing and other times a bad thing.
Movies in general are declining in quality.
ā¦..or Iām getting grumpier and more judgmental.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle

Really enjoyed all these
Civil War
Blink Twice
Longlegs
Trap
Abigail
Donāt Move
MaXXXine
Sleeping Dogs
Snack Shack
Back To Black
In A Violent Nature
Am I Racist?
Zef
American StarDespite going to a movie a week I haven't seen most of thos (just the bolded ones) but lots look to be horror which is about the only genre I barely watch. This year was a heavy horror year too, some weeks I'd have to pick the one non horror option available.
Also, I personally don't include docos in with movies as I don't really watch them in the cinema.
I'll have a think and see if I can come up with a top 10.
@MN5 I think last year was pretty decent for movies.

I was the opposite. Expected to enjoy it but just didn't grab me. And I'm a fan of the Gosling.

Rumours is a 2024 comedy horror film according to wikipedia. In truth it's neither funny nor scary.
It's a turd of a film bereft of glitter that wastes a precious hour and a half of your time. Unsurprisingly it stars Cate Blanchett.

Thanks for the heads up.
I canāt stand her and itās a mystery to me how she is a star. One of those women that other women go āaw sheās so gorgeousā but not one bloke does.

Usually like Hauser and with Freeman there, thought it would be at least half decent. All I can say is what the fuck. Should've guessed from the world class acting by the kid in the opening lecture scene.
2 endings out of how many endings does this movie have.

Freemans expression on the poster is of a man phoning it in

Watched Heretic - Hugh Grant was good, but the movie fell over after 30 minutes.
Someone should bulldoze the A24 studio offices, they are the mark of boredom.
Far too many anal gazing duds admittedly
But so many great movies too

Crumbs ! It is him too. Heās no Matthew Mconaghy or however you spell it or even Ben Affleck but great performance. Great flick

The Killer
Starring Michael Fassbender in the main role. The film aims to be a psycho thriller inside the mind of an assassin. I found it glacially slow, with a lack of action and style over substance. It didn't rise to the heights the reviews suggested (for me anyway)
3 bungled hits out of 5 nail gun shots to the chest
The 355
Chick spy flick, with a quality cast, let down by an overly complicated story. Sort of a Charlie's Angels without the humour
2 out of 5
4 hours of my life I won't get back

Good Will Hunting is the one I think of first for him as he's quite prominent as one of the four buddies.

Loved it
Still working out the meaning
Was it a Fight Club thing where he had an alter ego
