Hunt for the Wilderpeople is pretty cool but as one reviewer pointed out it is s bit rough around the edges in places. And Darbys character sucked a fair bit .
Meh, I prefer the multitude of reviewers who thought it was excellent - and I'm in agreeance.
I'm not getting the Darby hate from a forum that thinks That Guy is funny. You can get sick of Darby pretty quickly but suggesting that he wasn't good as Murray or as the leader of the Werewolves is bullshit.
The reviewer loved it but there's little things like the cop car driving down shitty country roads and a farm driveway and being spotless when it gets there, the scene where Ricky gets separated from his uncle and he's running around pointing his gun everywhere then Hec turns up with the same rifle on his shoulder and I'd never go pig hunting with anyone who jumps off a bank with his knife out like that because I'd probably have to help carry him out when he stabbed himself . Don't get me wrong it was very cool and I'll happily watch it again.
Oh and Dar Dar Binks can fuck right off he was excruciating unfunny as usual . I'll probably fast forward through his scenes when I watch it again on sky, that'll teach him.

Darby - Shit
That guy - BrilliantHow many times do you need to be told ?
-
@jegga Bloody hell, nitpicking, I'd hate to see what that reviewer would say about the Godfather.
So you're saying you don't rate Darby's performance in Flight or What We Do in the Shadows? He's pretty one note but he doesn't bother me even an inch in comparison with That Guy.
Oh well, comedy is subjective, there's probably someone out there who didn't like Delirious.

This is a serious question - are you related to That Guy? Brother, cousin, uncle?
Otherwise I can't fathom how you'd find him brilliant. -

Please don't mention Darby in the same post as delerious . He's not worthy.

You take that back. Every kid worth his salt practiced the "crane" while cranking out some Joe back in the 80s.
The film had it all, cool karate, Pat Morita, those nasty cobra kai boys, winning hurt, and Elizabeth Shue was hawt
By hawt, do you mean fawt?
She was awful. There was some great 80's totty that could have been much better than her.

She was girl next door hot dude. Years later she was great as the hooker in Leaving Las Vegas

Finally got to watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople, obviously went in with high expectations, and was not disappointed.
While an awful lot of kiwi humour, I think most of it translates well.
Loved the nod to Crumpy in it too.
Julian Dennison seems a pretty funny kid too, capturing the hearts of plenty
Watched this on the weekend in some little suburban cinema in south Brisbane.
4.5 haikus out 5 stuck pigs.
Loved the Crumpy tribute.
Miss boo jr loved it too after initial scepticism.

I enjoyed her work in this Oscar worthy work of art, she looked quite sexy in a sheriffs outfit which is some feat in a movie where just about every other female gets nude and runs around with their tits bouncing everywhere.....

She also rocked a great schoolgirl like look in the Saint
Damn right, unusually for a Hollywood actress she improved heaps with age. Didn't do it for me in the slightest in the Karate Kid but Leaving Las Vegas changed that ( despite being a god awful shit movie, Nicholas Cage irks me....a lot )
-
@canefan see, for movies, I think you are going about it the wrong way.
Real life, there really isn't a setting to take the bar low enough. You take what you can get, you inevitably punch far below your weight when crawling the traps looking for one nighters, but then recover to marry well.
But when up on the big screen ... I don't see why anybody should settle for anything less than an 8 on the totty factor.

@canefan years later, yes.
but in TKK she was fat, boring and just plain no good.
Fat? What are you a gay fashion designer?
Would take that any day over the broomstick with tits they'd probably chuck in there now.
