I see David Moyes has returned to Everton as coach. IMHO he did his best work there, they love him, probably should never have left

I genuienly felt sorry for Moyes (though this is recalling acient history) he always seemed to be able to wring the best our of Everton's limited roster (especially compared to what Man U had at the time) and I thought he was a great replacement for Sir Alex.

But the poor guy got crucified there and to be fair in the fullness of time it's not like any other manager has gotten remotely close to the glory days for Man U since Sir Alex.

Anyway if he does return to Everton I wish him well.

What difference does Moyes make over Dyche? Both set their teams up to play out of possession but never enjoy playing with the ball, and the difference here is, is that Moyes doesn't have a Paqueta, Rice or Bowen to bail him out. Infact, even Mohammed Kudus would be the most dangerous player in this Everton side.

He might keep them up but it feels like a sideways appointment to me.

I guess that's where they are at right now. I think Moyes has a higher ceiling though, he certainly has history and fond memories there

It's not that long ago Moyes said he didn't want to go to a club mired in a relegation battle. The fact that he has done shows the pull of the club. How much they support him will be critical. TBH I don't see a lot of upside for him.

Moyes' Everton roster wasn't limited at all, they had some really good pieces. Prime Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta in midfield for instance. That team was miles better than what he is going to work with now

I think if Dyche is a Ford Focus then Moyes is also a Ford Focus but with a few added extra. The Moyes style at West Ham was very much like Dyche's at Everton which was a focus on solidity and defence with attacking players who are dangerous on the break. Fans only like it for as long as it delivers results but would rather watch a front foot team.

I'm not sure if they would have ditched Dyche if he hadn't appeared to be reluctant to carry on - it seems maybe the players had turned against him and his style. I can actually see it being a disaster for Moyes if things don't improve - they should be better than 3 other teams but if Ipswich and Wolves continue improving, Everton will need to win a few games to be safe.

At Everton, not every Moyes season was good but they usually finished in the top 10 and for his final 7 seasons they were no lower than 8th. He has always liked those workmanlike players - Cahill, Osman, Carsley at Everton and Soucek, Bowen at West Ham. Not sure who he inherits from this current squad who can do that though.

Curious fact I heard on a podcast - Moyes will have managed Everton in his 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s.

With Leighton Baines, Tim Howard, Marouane Fellaini, Jolene Lescott etc. to go with it.

Notts Forest leading Liverpool. Have we got a title race on our hands?

Forrest hung onto the draw by the skin of their teeth. Good result.

I don't think so. None of Liverpool's competitors look to have the consistency to catch them unless they collapse.

Good points for Bournemouth and Brentford and a win for West Ham - Graham Potter? More like Harry Potter, am I right?

Bournemouth lost 2 points today and shouldnt have given away that last free kick (well executed though) however even for me taking off my eye patch, Brooks should have been red. So happy to take a point. Given our injury list probably should be happier

Yep mentioned on Stuff before the game. I still haven't forgiven Wood for missing those sitters against Man City last season.
