Magpies served with only 12 fit players. Think I heard them say our bench had an average of three premier league games between them. Injury crisis has got to haunt us soon, but for now will take that amazing win. Unexpected and delicious

Up the Cherries, one of my favourite sides other than Villa. Funny as I never rated Kluivert when he was at Roma, but man he is some player now.

Kluivert should be playing for Fulham. Apparently he had signed terms a couple of years ago? and had visa or work permit problems so couldn’t come.
Problem must have solved easily enough and Bournemouth picked him up. With our ability to miss penalties and scoring chances I think we could welcomed him.

With Bournemouth, it looks very much like a triumph of the system and the players all knowing their role in that system, even when key players are out. Pressing high is a great way to disrupt your opposition but every player needs to know where to move to or you get caught out and are wide open.

Moyes gets a win and goals for Everton - Spurs probably an ideal opponent at this time. Brighton beat Man U yet again, United's formation manages to combine being overrun in midfield with being weak down their defensive flanks. I'm not even sure what they are trying to do.

I said it before Amorim came in, 3 centre halfs playing in a low block is asking for trouble in England. The game is too fast for it to succeed there these days. It's an Italian formation that only works in Italy, difference is, is that the Italians are conditioned to playing it.

Attack best form defence as Bournemouth burn down Forest. Best PL run ever. Can’t see them beating Liverpool but didn’t see this result coming either

Brilliant stuff. I always tell my mates that Bournemouth are more of a threat than Forest and are better than them imo. Today goes a long way to proving that theory right.

The race for 2 champions league places is really on.

and confidence is sky high, even without a full squad. Taviner was at least back this week, hopefully a few more back soon.

Im not getting too excited about champions league just yet, long way to go, but at least in the fight, although local fans were singing about a European tour lol

                  Everton pull off another upset

Further proof that Oliver is a terrible referee. The fact that he is considered to be in the top 2 refs in the EPL says everything about the quality of English refs.

You can sort of excuse Oliver on the pitch in real time etc, but VAR?
Having said that I have read some commentators supporting the red.

VAR couldn't overturn it because they could see where contact was made. Factor in that it was already a certain yellow for it being a "professional foul" then it is definitely more than a yellow. 20250128_083725.jpg

The Gomes challenge was worse. Of course, he should have received a second yellow before then for kicking the ball away. But Oliver...

But his yellow was his second and therefore he was off anyway. VAR isn't going to stop the game to review a potential red.

@KiwiPie It should still have been a red irrespective of having a yellow card. Oliver's decision also influenced the punishment (3 games vs 1 game). There is no consistency.

There never will be consistency, every incident is different, the state of every game is different. I'm not saying it wasn't a harsh red as it was but it also wasn't the worst decision ever which the screeching ex-players keep on calling it. If it had been "just a trip" then VAR would have corrected Oliver but he actually saw it perfectly. If you look at Lewis-Skelly after he makes the challenge he knows he's in trouble because he knew what he'd done.

Anyway my main complaint is that the relentless focus on referees and accusations of bias against them WILL NOT MAKE ANYTHING BETTER! The standard of refereeing will just go down as nobody will want to put themselves through all the abuse. It also sucks the joy out of the sport and the same happens with rugby and this site is terrible for that. Rant over.

Pretty sure it will end against the pool, but the three longest Premier League unbeaten streaks are also the longest gathered by any sides over the course of the season: Liverpool 18, Arsenal 13, Bournemouth 11, with the Cherries last losing back on November 23.
Still pinching myself that we are currently in the same breath as these two

Looking back on the season, it has been more of a story of Bournemouth giving points away to teams they should beat - otherwise they would be in the top 3. Crazy that you can go to an inform Newcastle and beat them 4-1 with 12 senior players - then take on Forest's miserly defence and pump 5 past them (with another goal ruled out for offside that would have been the best of the lot). Iraola must have that squad so well drilled that he can throw a midfielder in at right back and a winger at centre-forward ... who gets a hat-trick. I would Kevin Keegan love it if they could topple Liverpool as well.

Fulhams season stuffed by our inability to take decent chances. So need a proper striker for next season because they were never going to buy in this window.
Absolutely loving Bournemouths season. Not that long ago that we like many others looked down on them in a patronising way.
When he was appointed I thought Iraola had walked into real spiders web but his achievements this season already make him manager of the year for me.

@KiwiPie Even in the games we played against teams we should have beaten the xG was high, just weren’t able to find the back of the net.

Whether the accuracy that has more recently occurred is more confidence than anything else I don’t know, but the recent conversion rate has been insane. Players just stepping into new roles due to injury and performing regardless.

After Liverpool we play against mainly teams below us, acid test will be performing against them from here on out, Both Forest and the cherries have a lot to play for unexpectedly
