@SouthernMann i completely disagree, the whole silver bullet "do it right or not at all" is how we end up with nothing....and then wondering why fans arent engaged

"Without the expectation. There is no reason to invest a few thousand to provide the service."

i dont know....other than engaging with fans, starting to build some interest in the upcoming season

There must be a few guys up in Auckland who Moana could get to broadcast for them. Bev's Broadcasting comes to mind. Dale Budge does Counties club rugby.

It comes down to who pays for it. There is an overall product expected. It will be viewed widely if created. It needs to be to a certain consistent level.

Fan engagement is hugely important. A video shot on an iPhone without a gimble or stand, by a wobbly hand, with comments from a intern, can do more harm than good to the image of both teams.

What will be interesting will be whether the Landers stream the Invercargill game on Waitengi Day.

They are trying to sort something out for that one. Whether it happens or not is another story

@SouthernMann agree to disagree, ive seen great engagement done with basic means, i think the next generation are far more accepting of amateur content, hell, i would say lots of people would rather hear commentary from someone younger than the old mates we get on professional services...in saying that the hand held gear you can buy from JBHIFI is better than what we use to get in the 90's

my club manages to film and stream all our games, we have a kit that follows the ball, our stats guy (volunteer) set up the elevated tripod on half way and off it goes, its HD etc. as Mariner says the team will be filming for their purposes with something similar, probably much better

One selection in the team to play MP will make @Kiwiwomble quite happy. We have one of our short locks starting too. Our bench specialist gets a run on start. At the end of the day, it is just a pre-season game that we won't even get to watch

JOSH WHAANGA? im excited to see him get a run of games, thik he's looked good if raw (which is ok for a 20 year old)

First things to note, they don’t necessarily mean anything, but:

Bartlett, Bell & Kautai looks like it could be the reserve front row. Notable that Renton is at 6, with Broughton and Naeta there. Feasibly this looks like a team which might finish a game?

Gilbert in 15 I guess shows what the thinking is there.

Other notable thing is Lennox. I think they are lining him up for a contract next year.

Could be wrong, but feels like this will be his first run in midfield at the pro level. Might have had fleeting minutes there, but I think this is a first start.

oh, that might be what @SouthernMann meant, i like gilbert but have agreed already hes...what 3rd or 4th cab of the rank at 15? best case this is just a selection based on the idea he'll cover that position while the coaches concentrate on others, ie dont have to worry, worst case theyre stuffing him around again after trying to make him a 12...and he'll get judged again on why he's not even as good at 15 as he was 2 yeats ago

No Howden, Taine Robinson or Umaga Jenson. Other than JRK and Haig I think that’s everyone off the top of my head

    Just seen a Members Exclusive.

    • Starting Team are those who are the fittest and have had the most time on the grass

    • 3x 30 Min periods, so the second and third sides will be a bit of a mixture

    • Tengbald is on an NDC and has impressed, gets a run with a few injury niggles
