Lakers now don't have anyone to play defence

So any day I expect them to announce they've traded Bronny James and a 2040 3rd round pick for Wemby

What the fuck? Not sure that benefits either team on its own. Ironically AD has been playing well this season. Luka has big upside, but he can't stay away from the buffet table and he can't play defence

I don't know enough about the roster to know how this works for Dallas. AD is having a very good season, he'll give them rim protection and scoring. But he's injury prone and 30. I just didn't see this coming, although I did think trading AD was a reasonable option last season

Turns out Kidd didn’t know, Luka didn’t ask to be traded, and Nico only spoke to the Lakers

He could be lynched by Dallas fans. It’s borderline criminal to not even see what you can get in the market for a guy of that calibre

The more the Mavs GM speaks, the more it appears to be complete GM malpractice. To not shop him around, then end up with cents on the dollar, it's unspeakably grim.

the story keeps getting weirder. And the playing group look like they have basically quit given the DNPs and the effort today.

Also, had he shopped around, i am confident that the Spurs would have given all our picks for Luka. All of them.

I’ve moved from shock to be just fucking furious.

They didn’t even get all of the Laker’s picks! For Luka!

I’m furious that they haven’t put pieces around him to succeed, furious that they have traded him, abd furious that they didn’t set up an auction if they were going to trade him.

It seems that the GM was pissed and traded away the franchise player, with, let’s say 10 more good years of service and the ability to be MVP 2?3? times in that period.

    Fuuuuuuuuuuck

    I’m lining up!

fluffybunny mustn’t have sat through 30 years of the Mavs being the absolute shittest team in the league. We may not win it all but we are a playoff team with an absolute star. This is (potentially) our third golden era (era is a bit strong, but best time since we lost Dirk) and this fucking just traded away the piece to build a team around.

The whole thing is shady as hell given both the Lakers and Mavs GMs have a long relationship back to when they were a player agent and Nike executive respectively.

This isn't the first time the Lakers have been gifted a superstar on a platter.

read any Mavs board on the net and it's the same thing. They've turned comments off on all their socials!

Not only did they trade Luka without telling him, they called him a fat loser on the way out. He is going to ruin the Mavs every single time he plays them.

    the history is fucking ridiculous

    Wilt
    Kareem
    Shaq
    LeBron

All traded to the Lakers for fuck all with prime years left. This is why the Lakers don't give a shit about draft picks, they don't fucking need them

    @mariner4life

They went out to get Kyrie when they could have lined up two 3&D guys to help on the wings and keep Brunson and we might have already been there!!!!!!!

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Luka needs the ball and doesn’t play much defense. Let’s get another guy who hates defense and needs the ball. As a one-two punch it was fun but not a championship team without some starch on D.

50% of that is great, fuck the Lakers!

I’m prepared to bet though that this changes Luka, they just took away his bag (for like 3 years?). He’s going to fucking kill us and probably the league as revenge.
