    @MiketheSnow

    Usually a lot of defensive lapses in the first round.

    By round three it will have tightened up a lot.

    I only saw the highlights, but yeah some of the tries were pretty soft. Am sure there was plenty of decent goal line defence throughout the game, but the teams didn't seem to have to work very hard to score when in 10 metres.

    Or maybe I'm just accustomed to 6N rugby

    So, I thought with this new centralised body to run Super that marketing etc was all going to be better than it has been previously?

    But, I didn't even know the comp was starting until reading threads on here this week. I'm more avid a fan than most so how are the general public hearing about the comp?

    Maybe it's just an Aussie thing and it was more heavily promoted in NZ?

    @Nepia All over social media and national news/rasdio have been reporting on it for a few weeks. Could have been promoted more but there’s definitely been an effort made.

    If you don’t use social media or watch sports news/radio(not saying you don’t)then I guess you’d struggle to find out these days. Their main push was socials. The new way of the world.

    It's round 1 after a shorter preseason this year. A bit of perspective please.

    The Super Rugby Pacific, New Zealand Rugby, and Rugby Australia have appointed Game Creative as their lead creative agency as they prepare to enter the 2025 rugby union season.

    This is the first of several new business wins for the agency since its launch in August last year, following founder Dan Beaumont’s departure from The Royals in July.

    Hitting the ground running, Game Creative has already developed and launched the 2025 campaign, ‘The Power of the Pacific’, which champions the energy, culture, and unique spirit that makes rugby union the most powerful sporting code across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.

    Oh, one question, is super rugby merch easily available in Auckland/Wellington? Like you can easily get a Blues/Canes hat or something basic without going to some niche shop way off the beaten path?

    Rebel Sport will do those, relevant to the area, so yep. There used to be a shop on main street in Welly, but not sure anymore. Auckland main streets are dead and full of shit, avoid.

    Injuries pretty bad, I guess it maybe hard to tell as this is the first time we've had this clarity. You've got to add those left out from niggles (eg proctor) and as yet unconfirmed injuries (eg Higgins)

    n total, 62 players were unavailable for selection in the Super Rugby Pacific’s opening round – with 43 of those being across the six New Zealand-based teams. The Crusaders were dealing with the most absentees, with 13 sidelined

    The surprising injury count ahead of round one of the Super Rugby season

    i'd love someone to go back and actually look at what its been like in previous seasons, if im honest i cant remember a time when we havent started a season without a few injuries....so thinking it is just the fact i wouldnt have looked at other teams before so where as i felt we were always unlucky...everyone might have been int he same boat
