Ernie Hudson was in another fav movie of mine, The Crow
He turns up in a lot of places, most memorably for me as the prison warden in Oz for several seasons.

I just checked IMDB, and sure enough, they have a Ghostbusters III listed with an "in-production" release date of 2012, and some rumoured castings (including Anna Faris and Eliza Dushku, who was at that same Comic-Con but didn't mention the GB rumour):
I was reading about a new GB film at least 10 years ago. I recall then that they were going to be a new generation of ghost busters or some shåt like that. Will be interesting to see how they pull it off. The original GBs are getting on and don't even look like they could lift a pack let alone run after ghosts. Ramis has gotten so big he could probably play the marshmellow man.
Anyone seen The Girl Who Played With Fire Yet? Realy enjoyed Dragon Tattoo but read a couple of dodgy reviews
It's good but not as good as "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It's really a prequel to "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" the 3rd film in the trilogy which pulls everything together. Do not miss it - I give it 9.5/10. Best film I've seen in the last few years

It you liked Dragon Tattoo look out for the Wallander TV series - either the original Swedish series or the BBC one with Kenneth Branagh. Both series outstanding, dark and brooding

Just saw Inception. Started off not liking it but ended up thinking it was pretty awesome. Hadn't seen any previews or anything so went in not knowing anything of what it was about. Farking crazy film and pretty racking on the brain. Bit of a slow start but certainly gets better and always keeps you interested.

The sequels are made for TV in Sweden - I think they were taken by surprise regarding the success of the books and 1st movie worldwide.

Think you're right and all 3 may have been made for Swedish TV - hence the english subtitles. No's 1 & 3 are stunning no matter what media they were made for. Oustanding.

Dunno what it is about Sweden but they are doing some seriously dark and moody drama at the moment. Top-class stuff.

Saw it on the weekend. Real cerebral, but not a lot of heart & passion - I mean, who's the villain of the piece? (Our subconscious?? Monsters From the Id? Mr. Anderson??) Yet I was fascinated the whole way and highly recommend it. 8/10.

Reminded me of Matrix meets Solaris, with a bit of Dark City thrown in. (Plus excessive LSD experimentation from my youth.) Leaving the theatre I heard an older woman tell her friend it made her think of Flatliners and Altered States, which I haven't thought about in many years and remember being rubbish. (Perhaps I should revisit both?)

I've been wondering about this since that epilogue/teaser after the credit roll of Iron Man 2. That's a pretty long trailer. Don't know who the guy playing Thor is, but looks like some A-listers there - Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins - and directed by Kenneth Branagh, so this is surprisingly tantalyzing.

Also, the best Thor on screen since Adventures in Babysitting.

It's not really a trailer, it's the leaked Comic Con footage. The guy playing Thor is the Aussie that played George Kirk in the new Star Trek.

It should be shiteous, but it's actually looking kind of good. Seriously, a gold eye patch should be Stupid (with a capital S) but it all seems to be working.

Saw Played with Fire at the weekend and really enjoyed it. Certainly better than some of the negative reviews but didn't stun me like Dragon Tattoo did. I went to that as a spur of the moment thing knowing notheing about it.

Saw a Wallander thing years ago and wasn't all that fussed. Might have to revisit.
Scandanavian's have done dark and moody forever. Ibsen, Bergman, Munch... Must be light deprivation and the alcohol issues

Add the whole Swedish death metal and/or/vs. Norwegian death metal rivalry. (Anybody here remember Burzum? Mayhem?)

John Carpenter's The Prince of Darkness - A pretty good variation on the devil/anti-christ/end of days theme. Interesting for the most part, although he couldn't sustain the atmosphere through much of the middle section.

The creepiness of the "transmissions" was very impressive - such a simple/cheap bit of footage but very spooky.

Watched The Omega Man last night - it's based on I Am Legend (the book) and stars Charlston Heston.
Liked it more than the 2007 version by Will Smith - the "vampires" are deformed humans (due to chemical warfare) who have started a cult.
Though I kept waiting for "Get your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape !" to pop up.

6.5/10

Semi-Pro with Will Ferrell. Haven't watched many of his films but enjoyed this one - especially when he fights the bear.

7/10

    Toy Story 3...

a very good movie, obviously a bit darker than the rest, and even an ending that left me with a lump in my throat! Kids will love it, as most of the more serious stuff will go over thier heads.

Caught Inception over the weekend, 3 days on still trying to make sense of it.

Great movie non the less, really enjoy Nolan's dark style (could have been set in the same world as Dark Knight almost).

Like many have said, will have to watch again...

Little-known actress Mara wins Dragon Tattoo role

Little-known actress Rooney Mara has landed the lead role in the remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Mara, 25, will play Lisbeth Salander, an investigator with a troubled childhood, in the English language version of the crime thriller.

She will star opposite James Bond actor Daniel Craig, who plays a journalist who teams up with Salander to investigate a disappearance.

The film is based on the first book in Stieg Larsson's best-selling series. Larsson died in 2004, a year before the first of his Millennium trilogy crime novels was published. The Swedish version of the film was released last year.

Mara's biggest role so far was a part in this year's re-make of A Nightmare on Elm Street. She has also appeared on TV shows ER and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The announcement that Mara will play Salander follows months of speculation over who would land the coveted role, with big names such as Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan and Scarlet Johansson reportedly in the frame.

The film begins shooting next month in Sweden and is due out in December next year.

David Fincher will direct the new version, while Steve Zaillian is writing the screenplay.
