@Canes4life Agree but the longer it goes on the more the choker tag must become a thing.

    91, 95, 99, 03, 07….. yep it was a real.

    Back to the cricket

Ravindra in full flight is incredible to watch - some of those shots he hit wow.

A really enjoyable team to watch is this Black Cap ODI team.

Give it everything in the final. Santner is a terrific ODI captain supported by a lot of smart cricketing brains so we have a real shot.

Hopefully the medics can get Matt Henry's shoulder right for Sunday

Santner seems like a very calm guy and happy to talk to other players to discuss the tactics. And he's at the peak of his bowling powers. Guys like Phillips and Bracewell are very handy to have - you don't want them coming into bat too early and you don't want to have to rely on them bowling 10 overs - but they can contribute in all areas. Having 4 spinners is a real bonus - they aren't as dangerous as India's spinners though. I think the Black Caps need to bat first to have any hope - or bowl first and hope Dubai delivers a seaming greentop!

The Indian's will rig the toss so they bat first anyway. Everything will be against us.

I think I heard this morning that Rohit has lost 11 of his last 14 tosses or something.

    Correction.
India have lost 14 consecutive tosses.

Rohit Sharma has been captain in 11 of those 14 matches

@canefan I woke up early as hell this morning (about 4) and didn’t even realise it was on as I’m in vintage. Watched from about half way through the SA innings.
So pleasantly surprised. Satnav impressed hugely. The guy has turned his career around better than Travolta in Pulp Fiction. He is just so good with the ball at the moment and looks incredibly calm.
We seem to have a beautifully balanced side with a plethora of bowling options. It’s a luxury that many don’t need to bowl much at all I.e. Phillips / Mitchell etc

To be fair he’s always been a more than handy ODI player but you still get an upvote for this awesome line.

Watching the highlights from the 2000 Champions Trophy and the bowling effort from the Kiwis was appalling.
Tendulkar & Ganguly though, what an opening combo.

@1kiwi The run outs were crucial. Particularly of Tendulkar who could have put the game out of reach the way he was playing.

The innings by Cairns in the chase was world class. At that period he was pretty much the number 1 all-rounder in the world and he lived up to that despite playing the game with a knee injury. Great moment in NZC history.

    Batting first. Let’s fcking goooo.

Henry ruled out which is a big loss.

Nathan Smith comes into the side. Bonus is that he’s a slightly better batter than Henry.

Debatable. Henry can belt a few sixes and at this stage in their careers is a MILES better bowler.

Huge loss, Smith needs to step up ! Our attack looks far more popgun with him not there.

All 3 of the seamers have to step up. O'Rorke has been very good at times, he had a good tour in India didn't he? One or two of the three of Smith, Kylo and O'Rorke have to rock it, and the third has to at least be solid

Let’s just get runs on the board first. 4/0 off the first over.

BCs 47/0 off 6.3 overs. Ravindra dropped by Shami on 29.

    Young 11 off 18
    Ravindra 29 off 21

Should be good for spin, hopefully isn’t as two paced as when we first played on it
