A few things can be true here:
- Tangitau signed a contract to play for the Highlanders.
- He has quietly been harbouring a desire to head back to the Blues.
- The departure of Telea opens up a better spot for him in the Blues squad.
- JJ and Highlanders supporters naturally want him to stay.
But, regardless of the strength of your sources, george, to simply argue in the face of the bare-faced fact - AS REPORTED BY THE HIGHLANDERS - that he signed a two-year contract does you or your credibility absolute no favours. As sloppy as the Highlanders comms/media work can be, they aren't making a mistake like that in their own press release.

Is it your understanding he didn’t sign a two year contract? If so, how does that reconcile with his own comments about having another year after this one?

@Grooter he's a Auckland boy, and basically wants to come home, he's a Blues man deep down, family big to obviously, be a main stay in Auckland NPC this season, unless and hopefully AB selection gets him.

@Kiwiwomble contract, he most likely had a lot of options in it when he signed for this season, Blues aren't stupid they were never going to let him walk away, for more than 1 year, the time has been put into him since he was 18, game time massive for him, Talea moving, and that was always on the cards, after not signing on last season.

he's a real talent and should be in the ABs frame this year, Landers will want to keep him for the remainder of his contract tho... he will look great on billboards with de groot and Holland when promoting the landers 26 campaign -
