    I fully agree and even in the later years there were some fairly simple songs but Hello Goodbye was something less than simple IMO. Having said that a very catchy tune nonetheless. However when you put it up against some of their contemporaneous output - Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields, Sgt Pepper, Hey Jude etc, it doesn't really stand up too well. And I am a Beatles fan.

    Far be it for me to defend the Beetles but part of the beauty of their songs is their simplicity, which makes them very catchy. Completely different style of music.
