BF 7s far too much class though and win 31-7 to win the Singapore 7s

The difference between the BF7s and AB7s couldn't be any more extreme. One programme is hugely successful and does well with their talent ID, and the other is a complete shambles. Time for Lendrum and NZR to make a change.

Watched some highlights of the Black Ferns from the first day, some new faces appeared because of the players joining the 15s squad - all the newbies looked very impressive

Bloody amazing year from the Women!
Head and shoulders above the rest of the world, winning 4 of 6 tournaments plus the championship.

And well done to Jorga Miller, doulbe awards, Player of the Final as well as Women's Player of the Year!

It is scary just how good she is and how much better she might well get, absoultely deserved!

As for the Men, best not to mention them except to say this tournament was one of their better ones given a third place finish, their first podium finish for the season.

@canefan Paying a high price for no National 7s you would have regional club 7s then regional provicial 7s and then the national 7s
                      No pathways being created .

The BF7s were all class again. Sarah Hirini might be my favourite rugby player at the moment. Loved her reaction when she scored the late try and dropping the f-bomb in the interview. Maddi Levi wasn't a factor in the final as great defence meant she hardly touched the ball.

The AB7s showed the best and worst of themselves across the 5 games. A failure to take chances cost them a win against Spain but they defended really well against Aust. Shat the bed with SA. 3rd is better than most expected.

And as it is winner takes all, they ended up 3rd overall, right? Ladder doesn't count

Does it work like that, or is that only for the winner?

It's a stupid format. Argentina were the best men's team and NZ the best women's team.

And speaking of the format, more changes for next season.

Very stupid. 7s is a game that had a lot of randomness due to its open nature, it suits a ladder

Devolved hosting model enables scalable, cost-effective event delivery and increased competitiveness

Glad they've seen that flying a whole bunch of WR employees to each event is a dumb idea
