Super Round all but locked in for 2026, Christchurch is the venue to open the new stadium.
Just waiting on confirmation of some government backing to confirm. -
@Chris epic, heard Beaver talk about that on his podcast with Kirsty Stanaway. Wonder if he got the good oil or it was all speculation. Might have to make the trip.

i guess makes some sense, my preference will always be fore QLD and culminating with a red v tahs, warmer, still a good rugby scene, attractive place to visit for a weekend etc

They are looking at Fiji for 2027.

@Chris another good suggestion, i feel what they keep missing is the chance to make some rivalries, we dont have multiple team from one city so we need to make something new

I fully admit, probable reason for not being a fan?
Could be an age thing, weekend away drinking etc is not as appealing as it was 10 years back. I much prefer a quiet beer, then a game, followed by bed these days.

Christchurch will be a great location for a magic round. Central city stadium. Covered. Plenty of hospitality options near by. Only question is whether the city will be able to handle potentially 10k of fans coming into the city.
Will dominate the city for the weekend.

Yep, but I a kiwi living here, so Aus super round I wasn't getting home etc. And even here I would have to stay in Christchurch for weekend, like I say a bit younger I might be keener.

Help an old guy out here... what is super round? I am just guessing everyone playing in the same location for a round?
Is that a league thing?
