@Bovidae size-wise that 11 year old kid is to Damien what Damien is to everyone he plays with.

Ollie Norris has put on 6 kg since last year. He is now 130 kg.

I'd much prefer Norris than Fusitua. That game against the Force I think it was, he was fantastic.

I'd also prefer Numia over Fusitua, he hasn't been at his best this year but his scrummaging is still solid and his mobility is something that would be ideal for the ABs off the bench.

You must have no memory of last year when he folded the Chiefs scrum up like a deck char in Wellington, so much so that he lifted one of your props off their feet.

Numia’s form before his big injury was way better than Fusitua’s this year, and Norris for that matter. If Numia gets back to that form he'll be well in the frame.

@mariner4life Bonus points for posting about a Hurricanes player in another team's thread.

@Canes4life Numia was good last year, but as dipped a bit this season.

Norris has been superb for the Chiefs and is well-deserving of an AB call IMHO.

To be fair I thought it was the ABs thread when I responded but we are here now. Funny when the Chiefs lads get niggly.

I’m not saying he isn’t, I’d be happy if he was selected but I don’t think the ABs have made their mind up yet. They’ll be wanting to see if the likes of Fusitua, Bower, Norris and Numia perform in the playoffs, as that’s where the pressure will come on, particularly at scrum time.

If one of them stands out when it matters then they’ll quickly become the favourite for the spot left by Tu’ungafasi.

The mods can move the AB talk to the appropriate thread.

It makes sense that Aidan Ross isn't in the 23 for tonight's game as he is currently on 99 games for the Chiefs. He'll get to bring up the 100 games at home in front of family and friends.

Will be interesting to see what happens next week in the Chiefs midfield. There's a possibility all three of Quinn Tupaea, Gideon Wrampling and Emoni Narawa are out through injury (as well as Anton Lienert-Brown and Rameka Poihipi).

Personally wouldn't want to see Manasa Mataele in the centres but he did get some minutes there in the pre-season so I suppose he's the front-runner, otherwise you'd think they'd have to bring in someone like Gibson Popoali'i? Jack Wiseman is heading north with the Under 20s and could be a temporary option while David Lewai is a non-travelling reserve.

Is Willis Halaholo around? Could the Chiefs whistle in a JRLO player whose season has finished, say Malakai Fekitoa

@Mr-Fish Narawa should be back based on comments from McMillan, and I wouldn't count out Tupaea just yet (HIA dependent). Popoali'i was in Dunedin with the squad.
