EPL 2024/2025

@MajorRage Team of the year was Crystal Palace for me. They managed somehow to hold onto a bunch of talented players despite the big boys circling around them like vultures. An unfashionable club from an unfashionable bit of London, but up and down the country their away fans were the noisiest and most passionate all season. And they won a major trophy for the first time in their history. And it was the oldest trophy of the lot.

@sparky said in EPL 2024/2025:
Anyway, my predictions of what the table will look like at the end of the season:
- Arsenal
- Man City
- Spurs
- Liverpool
- Aston Villa
- Newcastle (Sounds like they are in for Marc Guehi which might make them a top four club)
- Man Utd
- Chelsea
- West Ham
- Brentford
- Crystal Palace
- Brighton
- Fulham
- Wolves
- Leicester (but might be lower if they get points deduction for overspending)
- Notts Forest
- Everton
- Ipswich
- Bournemouth
- Southampton
These were my pre-season predictions and to be honest they were crap. I was way out on Spurs, Man Utd, Notts Forest and Bournemouth. Liverpool and Chelsea did significantly better than I predicted.

@MajorRage That's a top post, well done!
I might do the same if I get some time, based on watching a lot of the 12 minute highlights packages on Sky.
I'm not sure if it's just that there is too much football but no single player was outstanding for the whole season, even Salah seemed to fade by the end (as did Liverpool) along with Palmer, Wood, Isak and various players had spurts of form (Kluivert, Cunha etc) but then also faded.
Looks like Cunha to United - that's a transfer made in heaven (hell), and fairly sure to end acrimoniously.
Predictions for next season? Well I expect this season's top 3 to still be the top 3 although the order may change - I also expect all 3 promoted clubs to go down unless one of the other 17 implodes and that is looking increasingly unlikely.

It's the UEFA Champions League Final in a few hours time. Paris St Germain Vs Inter Milan in Munich.
PSG are very much the bookies' favourites and it would be big upset if the French/Qatari side didn't win: https://www.oddschecker.com/football/champions-league/winner

PSG lead 1-0 in the 12th minute. Goal by Achraf Hakimi the Right Back after a clever move.
-
It's been a really high press by PSG and Inter haven't been able to get up the pitch yet.
-
And Doué has doubled the PSG lead.
2-0 to the Parisians.
-
Think of the party in the City of Light if it stays like this after 90 minutes.
-
Inter are hanging on by the skin of their teeth at the end of the first half.
-
The 19 year old Doué is causing Inter all sort of problems.
-
Doué scores his second. What a talent.
PSG 3 Inter 0. The Champions League trophy is heading to Paris for the first time.
-
This has been a mismatch. PSG far too good for Inter Milan.
-
And it's four!!!!!!!!
Kvaratskhelia
It's a rout.
-
It's five!!!!
Mayulu, another of the 19 year olds.
If it finishes like this it will be a record-margin of victory in the final of any European football competition.
What a pompelling!
-
Hats off to Luis Enrique. Let's Kylian Mbappé leave, puts his trust in the youngsters and they win the Champions League Final with a rout.
-
The ref stops it on 90 minutes. He's right. Inter have taken enough punishment.
Ruthless brilliance by PSG.
