I've got nothing to watch at the cinema this week, so might have to watch 28 Days and 28 Days Later so I can watch the latest one.

The problem being The Walking Dead has put me off zombie style movies (I can't even bring myself to watch The Last of Us). Otherwise I might have to watch the latest Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal rom-com. I quite like Dakota Johnson but the movie looks terrible.

It’s been close to 20 years since the last 28 days/weeks movies. Historically sequels that drop after suck a long period of time are a bit shite, I really hope it isn’t the case for this.

Couldn’t agree more with the Walking Dead. It literally went from being the best to the worst TV show within a couple of seasons

Blatant rip off from writers Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore to 'create' the character of Michonne for The Walking Dead - released a year later

Was gonna rage against this, with a nerdy "harrumph, harrumph - you know there was a 'graphic novel' (fuck off - comic book) - before the TV series, right?" Before realising you did actually obviously realise this, mention of Tony Moore should have been the hint - and the Walking Dead nerd-books were actually released well after 28 Days Later. Really thought it was the other way around.
So - yeah, fair enough. 28 Days Later really was ahead of its time, innit?
But to be fair - as soon as one sees somebody in zombie-world with a sword - immediately my preferred weapon of choice for close up stuff. And pretty poor titwatch.

    @Bones

    WTF did we just watch???

Hopefully a trailer for a parody a la Spinal Tap.

    If not, we're fucked.

    Speaking of Spinal Tap.
There's a new movie out soon: search "Spaceballs 2 | Announcement" on YouTube.
Great trailer of nothing but intro credits, again.
    Class is permanent. Apparently.

    Last Breath

Based on the true story of a North Sea deep diver that got stranded 300ft or so on the ocean floor while a storm raged affecting the ships computer systems.

Fascinating story, guy had no oxygen for over 25 mins, suffered no ill effects, and continued to dive!

Woody Harrelson and Cliff Curtis both star.

3 last breaths out of 5 it wasnt really his last breath

    'Girl You Know It's True'

Funny what you end up watching on plane flights.

Going to give my rating of 4 lip synchs out of five bad hair does right up front here.

Those of my age will remember Milli Vanilli.

Movie is a bitter sweet remembrance of the phenomenon that Rob and Fab were.

Loved how the characters became the narrators, would stop mid movie and talk to the audience, not just Rob an Fab, but Frank Farian, the producer who created the ... product (best word I got) and others.

Looking at the movie you wonder why the band couldn't have been marketed as a whole, with the hairy guys just being up front. ..

Will have a look at the actual history, but the movie makes you feel sorry for the naivety of the two lads.

    Worth a watch.

As I say, bitter sweet. The desire to exploit others for money is the theme I got from the movie. The resultant damage to the individuals used and discarded really left left you wondering.

    "It was a great summer".

    Watch.

Apart from his stock American characters, I'm pretty certain he has played South American and Samoan as well.
There are rumours he's also played a Māori character. But I'll believe it when I see it.

He's done okay, he has that neutral look that allows him to play all sorts of characters, good bad, and a variety of ethnicities

    Re-watched 28 Days and 28 Weeks later.

Both quality, but that opening scene as he wanders the deserted streets of London is awesome, sets the scene perfectly

    Nonnas, Netflix

A sweet film based on a true story. Beautifully acted by the all star mainly female cast. The lounge room got very dusty near the end, a feast for the senses and the soul. 4 capulettas out of 5 canneloni

    Just did the same.

Funny how dated the first one looks. Cutting edge digital recording at the time but 20 odd years later its very limited and maxes out at just HD quality. You soon forget it though, still a terrific movie. Felt real.

28 Weeks later not as bad as I remembered, still finished it annoyed. Lots of amazing scenes but just some idiocy thrown in. For a start just put in other zombies rather than keep bringing out the dad zombie as though he's got some sort of advanced tracking system to find his kids..just dumb and contrived.

Didn't realise it at the time but Danny Boyle didn't actually direct 28 weeks later but he is back for 28 years later. That bodes well. Anyway fingers crossed that I'm not walking into another cinema disappointment next week.

Tangently related i see that Aussie/Kiwi Zombie movie 'Forgive us all' is available on streaming platforms now, never made it to the movies in Oz that I could find
